NEWS: Elon Musk has confirmed that HW3 can't achieve Unsupervised FSD. "For customers that have bought FSD on HW3, we are offing a discounted trade-in for cars that have AI4, and also offering the ability to upgrade the cars computer and cameras. We're going to have to set up micro factories in major metro areas. I do think over time it will make sense for us to convert all HW3 cars to HW4."

@MissJilianne What's a fair software support cycle for someone who bought HW3 in 2023 ? I think 7 years at a minimum...

Tesla Bulls wanted us to stay quiet regarding the over 400,000 Tesla owners with HW3 vehicles who after many years, still have not received the Unsupervised Full Self-Driving we paid for. Now there is global awareness. I’ll continue to be that annoying mosquito until we get what we paid for or reach a mutual agreement.

@tpgoebel I also own an HW3 vehicle and have never waited for the release of UnsupFSD or paid for it in advance. Generally, you pay for a working product and not for something that has been announced for years. I don’t really understand all the complaining about it.

Wow: Musk just made FINAL statement on future of Tesla HW3 cars: „HW3 does NOT have capability to achieve UnsupFSD. Relative to HW4, it has only 1/8th of memory bandwidth, which is key for UnsupFSD (or any AI). We are offering a discounted trade-in for HW4 cars. And we will upgrade the car to replace the computer and cameras. We will have to setup micro factories in major metropolitan areas to do it efficiently; this would be extremely slow at service centers. Basically need mini production lines to make the change. Over time it will make sense to convert all HW3 to HW4, as that will allow them to enter the robotaxi fleet.“ Tesla CFO: „In the meantime, we will also release a version of FSD v14 for HW3 by end of June.“
