Coming to the realization that startups — not academic labs — are the best long-term partners for rare disease foundations, especially the ultra-rares. Startups are very similar to foundations: lean operations, fast execution, and mission alignment on reaching the clinic ASAP. And as with all partnerships, do your diligence! There are shady folks out there and startups can go belly up. But it’s still worth the risk IMHO if you can find the right partners at the right time.

Sad it takes someone being diagnosed with glioblastoma to finally get traction with institutional investors. Still, super happy to have YC join the fight. ✊🏽 @curemotive #FuckGlioblastoma
