@BuildOnNodeOps Convenience, framework optimization and integration since I use next.js, functions of platofrm and UX. I consciously chose and use Vercel because it's the best solution for me

If anyone uses Vercel and didn't bother to check the changes to terms of service, just know that after March 31 Vercel will use your data to train their AI by default if you are on Free plan, you can opt out of it, so be sure to do that. Pro plan users are opted out by default

@pebtrocious Client previews are a big part of the workflow. Is it mainly the preview/share flow that keeps you on Vercel?

@BuildOnNodeOps They would if not for the fact I use Vercel to quickly and easy host and manage access to preview for my clients, which are mostly low traffic due to me targeting small companies that need landingpages. So yes I would take that into consideration, but definitely not currently

@banhosdev @hahahapedro Quando puder, dá uma analisada no CreateOS da @BuildOnNodeOps que pode resolver esse problema de instabilidade e outros. Não custa testar com alguma aplicação sua.

Pq o brasileiro xinga tanto quem cobra por um site que fez ou usa IA pra desenvolver? Fiz um post do CvPorVaga e 50% dos comentários ou eh reclamando que é pago ou reclamando que algumas partes (principlamente o front) foram vive codados

@pebtrocious Makes sense. Out of curiosity, do things like data usage defaults factor into that tradeoff for you at all?

@BuildOnNodeOps I have a pro plan and I don't think I will be switching from Vercel, for my usage the price is sufficient because I pay for convenience, If I wanted I could create my own private solution, but this would take time I don't have

vercel opted hobby plan users into AI training on their code by default. people will say 'just opt out' but that's not how defaults work. power imbalance between platform and developer is the real issue here

@alexcybernetic @zeeg Makes sense, a lot of people are moving to self-hosting for that reason. The gap we’re trying to close is getting that same level of control and predictability without having to manage the infra yourself.

@zeeg With Vercel you never know. Running all my NextJS self-hosted. Cheap, predictable, scaleable if and when you want, all control.

Guess ill move off of Vercel for (unpaid) personal projects at this point. I dont mind if people ask permission for this, and everyones free to make their own choices, but I am your funnel, not your product.

@tobiastornros @zeeg That’s where it gets tricky, it’s not just code, it’s workflow and build metadata as well. We’ve been thinking a lot about keeping those boundaries clear by default.

@zeeg they also updated the github app integration to collect all actions and workflow data

@BuildOnNodeOps @vercel @coolifyio I have a dedicated server running Proxmox VMs and custom CI/CD pipelines to build docker images, then they simply get deployed to those VMs and proxied by the server. I'm kinda against using proprietary software for infrastructure at this point, but your UI looks nice

If you're still using @vercel what is wrong with you? Literally use anything else. ANYTHING! If you need help self-hosting with @coolifyio, I will personally help you. Just move away from this crap. (Not sponsored, not paid)

When did “deploy” start including “train on my code”? Any reference to actual events is purely coincidental

@zeeg Honestly? Vercel stopped making sense for small/hobby projects the moment they required a paid plan for private GitHub projects.

@zeeg 5h later and i’ve completely moved off vercel for all my personal stuff and im about to close my account when nameservers finish baking in. ive had vercel for years but im definitely not having my IP sold off to random ai orgs.

@Jay_doshi_01 Fair point, that’s where most platforms break. CreateOS is built for transparency and control from the start, no hidden limits or lock-in, so when you scale you can actually see what’s happening and adjust instead of hitting a wall.

@BuildOnNodeOps cool but every alternative says the same thing until you hit 10k req/s and suddenly its your problem, genuinely asking what's different here

@KleynMichael @vercel They should indeed be more transparent about how your data will be used. That said, your code should stay yours and you should be able to deploy without compromise. Are you a free plan user?
