@Large_Prime_Num Oh, there's no doubt there. But instead of giving up and playing Lego, maybe folks should take initiative to learn a value trade or skill and use that to make an income instead of just giving up.

I get it but there's millions of people who view this as a kid's toy with a box soon in the recycling bin and plastic bits all over a living room. Not some future investment.

@ghoulbasement Only people that are mad about this are acumbag resellers and hoarders. Id be happy af If i ordered pomemon cards and they showed up like this.....because at least I got the product.

@ghoulbasement The OP was vague and then in the comments there was a story about it being a gift, and then there was business with it being returned for some small holes in the box which somehow translated to missing pieces so I'm unsure about what the real complaint is about

@HappyMammaries @ghoulbasement I was crystal clear that the complaint was about the display box being shipped without being placed in a shipping box because there is a difference between those types of boxes. It is a gift and many LEGO sets have free floating pieces along with plastic bags.

@staticscan @ghoulbasement I didn’t buy it from the LEGO store because it’s on back order there and it was not on sale at target.

@ghoulbasement Thats why it is an investment, they probably got it on sale or they woulf of bought it from the lego store to get lego points

@ghoulbasement I will note that if Target felt as though the original packaging needed to be reinforced with all that tape then it shouldn't have been treated as SIOC (ship in own container) - also, I'd be more concerned about increased potential for theft via porch pirates.

Shoutout to @Target for using “environmental friendliness” to excuse obvious cost-cutting measures Not only are they shipping LEGO in a way that can get easily damaged & stolen, but also spoil gifting Target has now lost me as an online shopper, just like Amazon before them

collectors are such scumbag losers because at the end of the day they really don’t even love what they collect because they see it as an eventual payday. the box for fucking legos is not an investment. you are not going to make money because you had a box. get a fucking grip.

@howieblingKMH Do you believe that I believe that after I build this set I expect to sell it for more than the original retail value? Because i don’t. IF i am able to sell this after it is built (and thats a big IF) I might be lucky to get 50% of the original retail.

@BuildingMyLEGOs @TheOGMaurice @AskTarget @LEGO_Group Just refund the set and buy a replacement in person. Mistakes happen. You can buy from a different store if you wish. Being aggressive and pretentious on social media is not a good look. This can be resolved civilly without the need to cause drama.

@xxColtLandersxx @Target @AskTarget A box that now has holes in it from shipping damage so I have no way of knowing if all the pieces are still in there or not. There is a difference between the thick cardboard of a shipping box and the thin cardboard of a display box.
