Narcissists/psychopaths have a deep understanding of their victim’s vulnerabilities. They actively provoke their victims in front of others to make them appear mentally unstable. The victims are healthy, able human beings being abused. The triggering is the tip of the iceberg.

@narclunch @Ryan_Daigler So basically Grey Rock, that seems to to be the only path. versus defend yourself from the accusations and always being on the defense versus on the attack.

@CaptainStacker @Ryan_Daigler And by that I mean, it’s better to just accept how they paint you to others (while letting your actions speak for you, of course) than to try and fight to change the minds of people who are actively being poisoned against you. Trying just gets you back tangled in their games.

The malignant narcissist doesn’t just abuse you. They abuse you to your breaking point and then make sure you have nowhere to go for help. Before you even know what’s happening to you, they’re already poisoning your relationships, seeding doubt about your credibility, making sure that when you finally reach out for help, the people you reach toward have already been told a story about you. A story that makes your pain look like a performance. 🧵

The narcissist wants to author your identity. Why? For control. But not control for its own sake. It’s about neutralizing a threat. Your natural persona exists without their permission — and anything they didn’t script is intolerably out of their control. If they can define you, they control you. If they can make others see you through their lens, they isolate you. And if they can make you doubt yourself, they own you. And that’s their greatest satisfaction.

@cornmuffinmix @Ryan_Daigler Basically what I have been doing, grey rock. The way I see it by responding I’m anyway this feeds them more ammo, so the only tactic is to ignore and not engage what so ever.

@CaptainStacker @Ryan_Daigler Play dead. Be something they don’t want to “hunt”. Of course that’s not good for yourself, but if it’s someone you can’t just walk away from I think this is th only real tactic.

Narcissists believe they can author your identity—who you are, what you feel, what you said, what your intentions are, what your worth is. They don’t just want control over your emotions; they want control over your character and public image. That’s why they: -Tell you who you “really are” -Rewrite your character -Redefine your emotions for you -Assign you roles (villain, burden, unstable, selfish, etc.) -Act like their interpretation is more real than your lived experience It’s psychological colonization. If they can define you, they own you. And when you refuse that—when you think for yourself and ignore their twisted fantasy—it destabilizes them. That’s why they escalate, smear, gaslight, or rage. You’re removing their perceived authority over reality.

@Ryan_Daigler The only way to beat a narcissist at thier own game is by grey rocking them. They want your reaction, your time, you wasting energy into a defense, so they can keep milking you for drama and spin your reaction and defense to fit their little narrative. You ignore and starve them.

Narcissists will often “give” you something they know you won’t like—whether it’s a gift, a meal, an outing, or “help”. It’s not a mistake. It’s a setup. They want to control your reaction, shame you for being “ungrateful,” and rewrite the story so they look generous while you look difficult. It’s never about the gift—it’s about power. It’s their way of looking like they’ve given you something without actually giving you anything.

@starheal The issue is your left with people believing the lies, and the smear campaign ultimately worked- soon as you address it they come after you. It’s almost like one needs to show they are not what they narcs claim

@starheal It put one on a defensive position, having to constantly defend themselves from baseless and obscured accusations. Grey Rock robs the narc of what they want- your reaction, your attention, more drama.

@ceedoubleukay @starheal I think starving them for a response and attention is the best solution while they continue to poke prod and invent nonsense. Trying to determine if another tactic besides Grey Rock would work. Fire with fire is just draining and puts you on defensive. Not sure what else…

@GeissenMD Also body weight. The problem is locally you need to find essentially a Holistic practitioner, as no common GPs recommend or prescribe it for cancer. Otherwise you’re forced to take a chance with an online doctor from Twitter, a third party company, and or self diagnose. Sucks.
