there's a moment when the path you've been walking isn't the destination. niotebook taught me that. but that moment cracked something open. i've spent the last stretch reading, building, breaking things to understand them. the dev community—every coder sharing their thinking—you've been my invisible curriculum. and now i'm standing at something new. i don't fully know what it is yet. that uncertainty? it's the best feeling. something's coming. i have no idea where this leads. that's the whole point.

Have you tried the claude desktop app? claude [ chat + cowork + code ] all in one but with distinct interfaces and with recently added features, the handshakes between these modes is more or less seamless now But I do get why OpenAI is trying this and do think it’ll be great if they roll out a refreshed take on a unified interface, interesting times ahead nonetheless

So today we still go to chrome to search and codex to code and chatgpt to ask questions. I could definitely see adding more computer-like functionality to chatgpt, they absolutely should, so it could actually do work and interact with the device. A better zero-click "auto-start".

As much as I want Codex and ChatGPT to work together I'm reasonably sure this will fail, for the main reason that this is a pressing problem primarily for OpenAI and not for its users. What its users want is an actual Desktop app that can do work on their own device, not a frankenstein

Software engineers are the happiest people on Earth now. They pay $100/month for Claude Code to do the work. Their employer pays them $10,000/month for the results. $9,900 profit for sipping coffee and talking to Al. The funniest part? Not a single dev with a full-time job will ever admit this publicly What a time to be alive.

Companies go through phases of exploration and phases of refocus; both are critical. But when new bets start to work, like we're seeing now with Codex, it's very important to double down on them and avoid distractions. Really glad we're seizing this moment.

SCOOP - OpenAI is planning to simplify its product experience and launch one "superapp" -- part of its broader effort to instill more discipline and focus into the business, and beat back the threat posed by Anthropic more here in our @WSJ story wsj.com/tech/openai-pl…

@mannupaaji @claudeai Instead just use the built in connector tool in @claudeai app for gmail where by default there is no send option anyways, that’s what I use and it’s absolutely amazing. I don’t even open my gmail much these days cause of it. Only do so when drafts need to be pushed/sent.

I use the @claudeai extension for Chrome a lot. Today, I asked it to draft an email with the details I provided. It drafted and SENT IT. Even though I had explicitly selected "ask before acting." I was helplessly trying to stop it, but it happened so fast. Luckily, the email was a simple one and nothing that I didn't want sent. Be careful with these tools out there.

it’s honestly uncanny how accurate this is: - ravenclaw: Anthropic - gryffindor: OpenAI - slytherin: X AI - hufflepuff: Google/Gemini

With the way things are moving. I for sure need an upgrade from my MacBook M4 Air base model. Super tempted for the MacBook M5 Max and also probably/hopefully Mac Studio M5 Ultra [if it drops as well]. Hoping I can grab these two sooner rather than later, but anyways have to wait for them to be available in Muscat, Oman. Need to push those income sources…

Thought: It’s almost like @AnthropicAI had the best building blocks / raw ingredient foundation for something like @openclaw - but @OpenAI bought it, so Anthropic built it. In like 2 weeks. Feels like something is adjacent here with the emerging Codex GUI / UX - which does feel better for parallelizing work. There’s clearly a few things that Anthropic could buy here (won’t name things but you can probably guess) - feels like they will just build the thing though. And will probably catch up soon. I think all these UX concerns will just converge so quickly - and that all which will really matter is the use-cases the foundation labs RL around, and which labs will be the first to identify the step-change approaches for the actual models (eg the things like the reasoning jump) - and even then, it seems like those findings only afford you short-lived moats. I have no idea what this all implies - but it probably implies something
