Poor advice. Mentorships don’t cost money. Courses are repackaged content that is available for free. Books can are at the library, traded or a free equivalent. You only get one shot at maximizing compounding interest over time. $300/month starting at 20 is over $1mil by 65.

you really don't need to build a portfolio if your projects section is gonna be half empty or a "work in progress" just focus on bulding projects that have one of these characteristics: 1. helps you learn mid or advanced coding concepts 2. has a real world use case 3. is original and different but not necessarily over complicated 4. is not a netflix clone 5. is somewhat easy to explain to non technial people and/or HRs 6. is public on GitHub and has a well written README

@suereact New to programming? Just learn JS and understand data types with some TS exposure. New to JS/TS and worked with another language? Just jump straight into TS.
