When two women are discussing how their children can now cycle safely to school in Heavitree, then they can nip to work without needing to run & finance a car.

Let me get this right, @JustStop_Oil protestors blocking motor traffic is bad and they risk jail, but anti-ULEZ protestors who block motor traffic are good and will not be arrested and jailed?

Similar schemes have seen reductions:
- Road crashes & injuries
- Air Pollution
- Noise Pollution
- Crime rates
They also seen increases in:
- Kids playing & travelling on the streets
- Kids & adults being more active (leading to a healthier population)
Ian speaks sense.

@CoBikesElectric just found this bike dumped in a hedge on the outskirts of Rockbeare. Put it on my van and have docked it at Cranbrook St Martins station. Cheers.

English

@singerguy78 @CyclingInASkirt The middle of the lane (Primary Position) is advisable anywhere around junctions and narrow bits of road. Makes cyclist more visible and less likely someone will pass closely with several tons of machinery. Just off to teach exactly that to Primary Sch children.

@ASIAMTWEET @theJeremyVine If the van obscures the bus driver's sight of a cyclist lit up like a Christmas tree, as stated by many, then not enough clear sight to risk starting the turn. If the van obscures the drivers sightline, then also prevents the cyclist seeing any turn signal.
English

@theJeremyVine You’re embarrrassing… literally looking for trouble. The van put you in a blind spot before the bus started the turn. By the time you was in sight it’s blocking your path. You could see the buss from a 500 years away. Maybe just take precaution and accept these things happen.

@fairbrass @PurpleMouse That's the difference between cyclists and those that 'only' drive, cyclists are statistically better drivers, they are more aware of their surroundings and are less likely to break traffic laws because we know our actions can have far reaching consequences on other road users.
English

@cyclegaz No problem - presumably you will be making sure there is a 1.5 metre gap between yourself & the stationary vehicles your passing

Right London. One good thing about the weather is it lets us see in *real life* how much space the traffic really uses. This is called a ‘Sneckdown’
Your mission - if you have a vantage point - is to send me all your Sneckdown photos for my files today! #londonsnow #sneckdown

@tigerroarcouk @theJeremyVine So, apart from left & right, what were the other two ways to look? Up & down maybe?
English

@theJeremyVine it's crazy that anyone coming out of a side street has to look four ways though
English

@Ashleyrose66 @DaveReidReading @theJeremyVine @RBKC @betterstreetskc You've posted that excerpt twice but don't seem to have actually read the very first sentence 🤔🤦🏻
English

@DaveReidReading @theJeremyVine @RBKC @betterstreetskc My point is Jeremy did the exact thing you have just agreed he probably shouldn’t have! 🤷🏻♂️
English

In the week of the judicial review of the @RBKC decision to chuck its £370k cycle lane in the bin after less than 2 months, I cycled down High Street Kensington this morning just to check the council had, as promised, "made the road safer and flow better"

@FidelUK @Michaelsmither4 @HappyHaringey No, children are not allowed on pavements.
Highway Code: "Rule 64
You MUST NOT cycle on a pavement.
Laws HA 1835 sect 72 & R(S)A sect 129"
English

@Michaelsmither4 @HappyHaringey And once again using children, who can legally cycle on pavements and parks, as if they didn’t prefer to stay at home playing games on their consoles!
English

@adamplewington @CyclingInASkirt "they moved slowly saw you.." because she was in the middle. That's the point of the tweet 🙄
English

@CyclingInASkirt Contain your indignation, the driver was pulling out of a difficult space where they can’t see the road - which isnt illegal - they moved slowly saw you and stopped. Both parties behaved sensibly. Witch-hunting drivers is not right either!
English

This is why cyclists ride IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. This happens so often here where drivers just don’t look before they pull out.

Cartoon: Storage of private property in the street. From my book, 'From A to B'. I'm currently uploading images like this, so that they can be reused by members of my Diagram Club. More details here: davewalker.com/diagram-club/

English

@Conserved2229 @CyclingInASkirt Why is footage needed? Worst scenario: driver ignored red light and crossed line. Best scenario: driver ignored amber warning light and crossed line knowing it's going red. Either way, bad driving.
