.@moran4congress in the @TXKGazette "President Trump needs a U.S. Senator from Texas with both the character and competency to help him finish the job he was hired to do. He needs someone he can trust. And, in my opinion, that man is John Cornyn." #TXSen texarkanagazette.com/news/2026/mar/…

Just chatted with a friend in D.C. who is a longtime (and current) donor to @JohnCornyn: "I don't know why we're still doing this. John campaigns like this is the Rove-Bush era." Ouch. "No one in Texas values 'works-with-Democrats' like John and his team think they do." Double-ouch.

I've reached out to Cornyn's campaign why he did not attend. Response: "Senator Cornyn is working in Washington around the clock the fund DHS and pass the Save America Act." More context: The head of #CPAC has repeatedly raised up Paxton as his best pick in this race. #txlege

POLITICO: MAGA faithful at CPAC are celebrating what they see as a major win: keeping Trump from endorsing John Cornyn ahead of the May GOP Senate primary runoff. “The Cornyn endorsement looks dead, but it’s Trump, so it’s never certain,” a person close to the White House told Dasha Burns Paxton flew to Mar-a-Lago last Friday and spoke directly with Trump at a Palm Beach County GOP dinner. Trump may skip an endorsement entirely — or wait until after the SAVE Act Senate debate to back Paxton. Every Republican who spoke to Playbook cautioned that Trump could change his mind at any moment. It’s still early for the runoff, they said, with Election Day still nearly two months away. But the deadline for a candidate to drop off the ballot passed last week. politico.com/playbook
