My wife and I were acquainted in college, and got to know each other the last year. On graduation day, she called to invite me to her party, and ending the call, I said something like, “sounds great, see you later, love you,” hoping to slip it in low key. We hung up. We’d never even been on a real date. Her mother called back and asked, “Did you just tell my daughter you love her?” Well, “yeah, like, Everybody Loves Raymond.” But that night, I realized she would be the only person I’d miss deeply from college - and thought I’d blown it. A few days later she asked me out and we started a long-distance relationship. Over a few months, I figured out that she loves Jesus, wanted 4 kids, and had the most talent stacks of anyone I’d ever met - she can figure out how to do anything. On May 5, we’ll have been together 20 years. Needing to keep dates easy to remember, I kissed her for the first time on July 4 (we’re both very patriotic!), proposed on New Year’s Eve. She’s patient with me and loves me unconditionally. She’s given me 4 children, still loves Jesus, and we’re a team in everything we do. There will never be anyone I love more than @lesliehubertwi

Jinks myself with my bragging post yesterday. Had to go check out a job we recently did today where we missed an entire bathroom. Huge house. Just flat out missed it. Walked the house with the client for the first meeting and we never walked into the back corner. Built the cabinets and installed them and still didn’t catch it. A month went by before the builder even noticed. Sometimes I wonder how things like this happen. Still trying to wrap my mind around it. Big ole screw up all around.
