@BPete1970 Having watched the pre season games I definitely have a cautious optimism . Each year I still look forward to the new season as if I was back starting the journey back in 1968! I would love to see Amorim succeed , but I really want some Roy Keane passion from the team!

Despite how bad we were last season & still being owned by that lot I am actually as always looking forward to the new season 😏

I went to Rome on a Wednesday morning n April, to cover Pope Francis’s funeral on the Saturday and be home Sunday. Instead, I had a stroke on the Friday. I couldn’t do anything. Three months later, I finally slept in my own bed, albeit temporarily. It felt, well, miraculous.

In other news, we in Ireland appear to be losing the word rasher in favour of bacon. I'm ashamed to say I'm as big a culprit as anyone, but can we all please make a conscious effort to reinstate it? Thanks now ...

At my friend Ivana and Franco’s for dinner. Known them since a child, we played together, dated together have grown old together. Ivana is a brilliant cook, Franco tends to his land. Most of our meal tonight is home grown. Spaghetti with cherry toms,aubergine bake,beans, peppers

@ilovemypets56 I keep us fairly self sufficient in veg for 3/4 of the year. Gives me great pleasure

@ilovemypets56 My son in law is from Portugal. We had meals with his family friends. From the suckling pig through vegetables , wine and liqueurs all home produced. Extremely delicious

This hospital has Saorview, so Irish channels only on the TV. It has WiFi that doesn’t work in my room, because there’s lead. 🙄 Thanks to tethering to barely there 5G on my phone, a Bose Bluetooth speaker, an iPad, Sky Go, BBC2, and a glass of wine, needs must, and all that!

@MarkYoung23 @DavyTempted I find soft drinks just a gross mix of chemical flavours. Ciders and beers are a cleaner more natural taste imo.
