Met a founding engineer today from @Replit. Jen Li. We were both judging the @Pokee_AI hackathon. They have me some credits and I built two apps in 20 minutes using the X API:a weather one which mapped storms being reported in by my climate scientist list and another monitoring my three news lists for information about the Iran war. I’ve remained silent for over 3 years NOW , that stops now . People really tried to take my company and weaponize the legal system as part as their strategy. CRE / TRP played a major role in that . Smear campaigns / lawsuits and hella damage to the brand and we are still standing. They lost in court and still refuse to pay the 23 million dollar judgment that was awarded by the judge ( which after a year and 10% interest is almost 25 million now ) . SMH . I’m so glad to address this along with other things in my book , I appreciate my day 1’s who stuck with me through all this , we know exactly what went wrong and how we are going to dial in and fix it 💪🏽 🍪

My high-school just finished building its first computer lab in 2004. Most people I knew had some gateway or emachine rig that could hardly browse the web that their parents owned. You are right, PC halo never took off, for many reasons. Quake, doom, unreal owned fps pc turf and had spent many years developing huge communities. Halo outright owned console fps until modern warfare.

HALO is a mediocre game that only got attention because it was Baby's First FPS for console dorks. Everything it did had already been done by PC shooters like HALF-LIFE or NO ONE LIVES FOREVER, but better (which is why HALO was ignored when it was released on PC).

This, xbox/Microsoft wants devs to makes games that almost solely operate within its ecosystem. This is inefficient and leads to a version of a game that is subpar to its counterparts released on other platforms. From mods to actual performance features such as dlss. Makes the devs work loads more than they need to be.

@SmashJT Xbox Anywhere isn't bad tbh. Problem's lack of mod support compared to Steam/GOG. Out of the 31 eligible games i have, I repurchased 9 of them to have proper Mod support. Worst still, it shows more as "owned" but the installable are the real owned on the Xbox App

Team Xbox — some are you are asking how much it matters that Asha doesn’t have gaming experience Some thoughts since I’ve been there: I had never worked in gaming when I joined Activision Blizzard’s board and later became CCO & EVP Corp Comms. And although I’d played games, I wasn’t very good The learning curve was huge. I had to quickly understand the products and players. Gaming culture is unique, and it’s not just one culture! COD vs WOW have very different communities. Launching DIV was totally different from Overwatch work Getting up to speed took a ton of listening and learning (often the hard way, because while you’re figuring things out you still have to Do Your Job). It involved visiting studios, DMing with streamers, talking to devs, and lots of reps getting absolutely murked in Modern Warfare II The players made a huge huge difference. I learned from so many of you, whether you were sharing feedback or meeting up at BlizzCon or cooking me on twitter (tough crowd, strong feelings - never change!) Also - while I def didn’t have the “right” resume or a background in gaming, I did know how to communicate, negotiate, get creative, take care of people, and, when needed, fire shots I still made plenty mistakes. But my point is that skills from other jobs do transfer. Even though there is a LOT to learn for someone without a gaming background, it IS learnable Asha is smart, effective, and a fast learner. She has no ego, just wants to get the job done. Playing lots of games in a short period is her way of preparing as best she can, and she shouldn’t be put down for that She’s determined to make Xbox the best it’s ever been, from the foundation built by Phil and Sarah and their team. If I could’ve stayed after our acquisition, I’d be super excited right now to work for Asha! I will forever be grateful for all of you who welcomed me to the community and gave me advice and encouragement (even as I was far from perfect) I hope you’ll give Asha that opportunity to load in, learn, and show what she can do Don’t judge the resume, judge the K/D 💚
