I got so frustrated with the 4-app problem that I started building a solution. One app. Mind, body, and nutrition as one system. Every day reduces to a single score. I have no idea what I'm doing but the prototype is working and I can't stop using it.

@localcommai not sure if you’ve checked yet, Helix can now look at your pantry (upload your Walmart receipt) and your calorie goals (target + logged for the day) and suggest a meal from food you already have that meets your calorie and macro goals. Talk about cross referencing!

@thedankoe Added the ability for a user to track “progress toward a goal” to inform our mental health pillar. 💪🏻

@edgaralandough Added this as a feature. 💪🏻. Eight Health now asks you if you experienced a glimmer today and can surface it again when you log a bad mood.

Learned about something called a "glimmer" recently. It's the opposite of a trigger. A tiny moment that makes you feel good. Coffee hitting right. Sun on your face. Your dog losing its mind when you walk in the door. Most of us are trained to scan for threats all day. Flip that. Start scanning for glimmers. Same exact life starts feeling completely different.

Imagine you had to choose your life at age 40: Option A: Single. No kids. $10M net worth. Travel anywhere. Total freedom. Quiet house. Quiet holidays. Option B: Married. 3 kids. $1M net worth. Drive a Toyota. Chaos every morning. Loud house. Full dinner table. Be honest, which life are you choosing?

@thedankoe Interesting. We track 8 pillars of wellness and I wonder if we should add “progress towards a goal” in our mindfulness pillar.

@edgaralandough We track wellness based on eight pillars, mindfulness being one. Adding the ability for our users to identify “glimmers”every evening sounds like a great value add. On it.

The future of health tracking isn't better food logging or fancier workout UIs. It's the integration layer. The app that sees the connections between all the inputs. We're drowning in data but starving for insight.

I tracked my mood, training, nutrition, and sleep every single day for 6 months. Here's the most surprising thing I found:

Using Claude Code has a weird side effect: You don't just get more productive, you actually want to work more. There's something addictive about watching a product being born in real time in front of your eyes. "One last feature" after "one last feature" and it's already past 3am.

A beta user logged “Forgot a Name” as a symptom on Eight Health yesterday. Today, Helix, our AI that has access to the user’s data, made a correlation to their lack of sleep. Things what the future looks like.

I've tracked basically every health metric like a mad man (I am a mad man, see pics) sleep, macros, biomarkers, heart rate, HRV, recovery, mobility ROM, etc. the one thing that I think has the strongest correlation with my health & happiness is steps. ideally outdoor steps

@PatMcroch3353 Yup. Which is why you can choose “Healthy Home” with Eight, name it if you want, and be done with it.

The worst UX in all of health tech: logging a meal while you're eating it. You're supposed to weigh your chicken, scan a barcode, scroll through 47 entries for "rice," and estimate serving size — all before your food gets cold.

Every health app is fighting for one vertical. Nutrition apps fight nutrition apps. Workout apps fight workout apps. Meditation apps fight meditation apps. Nobody's fighting for the connection between all three. That's the whole game and nobody's playing it.
