@TiciaAIM "All things are possible to those who believe." I'm not there yet, but maybe you are:)) A friend learned Greek at a theological seminary. They started at the beginning of Acts - adding more words each day. The last day, they read the entire last chapter!

@ElevatedMath At times I've thought about learning Hebrew or Greek, because I can imagine how helpful that is for studying the Bible.

@TiciaAIM Thank you for sharing these. I didn't know ESV, but it looks simple and clear. I have The Jewish Study Bible where I sometimes go to check citations in the Old Testament. (Tanakh Translation) I find it useful.

@ElevatedMath I currently enjoy the ESV, but previously used NASB quite a lot.

@TiciaAIM Interesting. What Bible do you like the most? I switch around. KJV is what I read first, but lately I'll look at New Living Translation sometimes for the Old Testament, though they miss out on things in the New Testament. JB Phillips is good for reading Paul I found.

@ElevatedMath I like the detail that you go into and the visual aspect of marking the words, so I can see how often a word is used or looking to see what the word was in the original language to see the context.

@ElevatedMath To each his own, my husband isn't a fan of Precept studies either, but I love them.

@TiciaAIM Well, you did ask for anything unique. I did collect stamps and pennies, but these didn't seem unique like turtles.

Did you collect anything unique as a child? At some point I decided to collect bells, and I distinctly remember checking tourist stops for unique bells.

@TiciaAIM I'm with you. I started a list when 13-years old. Gave up after passing 80 at 1/2 year through. I preferred to read than keep a list! In 9th grade, I submitted a book report for The Count of Monte Cristo (unabridged). Received a C- because the teacher didn't believe I read it.

In the last 6 months or so I've been trying to keep a list of the books I've read. I can't imagine what it would look like if I'd kept it since I was 14. There would be one week where I took 8 books with me on a vacation. I ran out of books, and so reread at least 2 twice.
