@GridCommander Oh that'd rule. I haven't hopped back in to Wartales in a while but thats mostly because I always lose 80-100 hours whenever I dive into it . It'd take up so much of my time.

Somebody commented on a video about a sci-fi version of Wartales and honestly I can't stop thinking about how great that could be

There are so many fantasy themed "dungeon crawlers" and dungeon crawler styled games. Y not many Sci-Fi tho?

Uncovered my old gaming collection. Diablo II, Starcraft, Starcraft Brood War, Warcraft III. Amongst many others. These were epic times, man. Happy to have experienced it.

Absolutely. I think there are great content creators in the strategy game space like yourself too. Some really hustle hard on news and updates. I think they are great as people genuinely want to know more about stuff like that. But I think content creation can be so much more than that. Youtube has become a platform where new creators are repeating content that works for other channel in the hopes of faster growth. They see commentary or news about how Civ 7 is being updated to remove the 'new' ideas it brought. That topic gets regurgitated over and over again. No shade on people who do it, but I think inspiration can be more than just repeat the topic. Taking an idea that worked and turning it into something new that still has (hopefully) the pull of the original idea, while doing something that you love... that is perfection. But I'm not completely stopping news commentary, just pivoting away from heavily doing them. Hopefully the new video format does well... kinda nervous.

For the past 3 years, I've worked hard on my channel, focused on news related to strategy games. There was some solid growth at times. And slow moments. But the thing about covering gaming news, especially related to strategy games, it is very dependent on the news cycle. And I often have to make videos quick. I'm getting old and this is just getting too tiring to do. I feel the time to move on from this sort of channel content is coming soon. I'd like to make content that is less about speed of getting my commentary out. More about an exploration of why we love the games we love. A bit more evergreen. I will be experimenting with a 'newish' format the next month or so and see if that goes down well. I have no idea if it will. Which is scary. I've played pc games for a long long time so I do have insight into those old classics. I'm also terrible at finishing them. So I'd like to combines these two as a new series of videos.... that might become the identity of my channel... if it does well. Again... no freaking idea what works on Youtube. But what I can do is to combine my knowledge, my passion for these games, and understand that there is an audience that likes these games and would check out my video. That's the only thing I can do, that is in my control. The rest is up to the youtube algorithm gods. This video should be up in a day or two. I'm not going to blabber on about it. Just going to see how this does.
