We continued to roll-out our operations along major UK motorways, collaborating with @PoliceScotland yesterday on the M8. By dedicating resource and utilising MIB data to tackle uninsured driving, the initiative is sure to make roads and communities along the corridor safer.

It’s always great to hear from our police colleagues about their work with MIB to protect people from becoming victims of uninsured driving. By working with insurers and roadside officers, our police helpline removes any doubt about whether a driver is insured. #WeAreMIB

The MIB Police Helpline helps the police quickly identify whether a vehicle is insured. If there’s any doubt, we’ll work with insurers to check the information a driver has provided. If they are found to be uninsured, their vehicle will be seized and potentially crushed.

Victims of #uninsured and hit-and-run driving should not have to experience the devastation caused by these reckless drivers. It is also hugely unfair to those who are insured, who effectively have to pay through higher premiums to cover all the claims made to MIB #DriveInsured

This is an important reminder for anyone who wrongly believes driving uninsured is worth the risk. While the cost of insurance is challenging for many people, there are still plenty of ways to get the right policy at the right price.
