@joolzg @Heccles94 The UK is so incredibly bad for solar panels that we are going to have an abundance of energy generated by solar panels… it’s just awful, how dare they pay us to use excess energy.
English

@Heccles94 You do know the UK is one of the worst places in the world to rely on solar and on top of this our electricity infrastructure is in dire need of upgrading.
English

@jimbooth80 @Heccles94 Nothing to do with an over supply of renewable energy I can guarantee you that
English

@Heccles94 Do you remember the blackouts in Spain/Portugal recently? Why do you think they happened?
English

@Keasty86 @MartinSLewis @OctopusEnergy No problem, just keep an eye on the tariff rates as the weeks go by as they change quite quickly depending on what’s happening worldwide in regards to Iran etc.
I’m currently on Variable Go, 6.5p overnight which is great, but I expect this to go up at the next price cap
English

@JacobBurchell @MartinSLewis @OctopusEnergy Thanks mate just had a look intelligent go is no good more than one EV. Just found the Go tariff but they’re ahead of it as it’s much more expensive so have to stick. Thanks for the info :)

GET OFF THE PRICE CAP IF YOU CAN. DON'T IGNORE THIS (unsure if you're on the Cap? You likely are!) There's a window of opportunity to lock in prices below the current Cap to avoid the huge hike coming in July. This isn't a political point. Its a data point!
We're 2/3rds through the July Price Cap (mid Feb - mid May) assessment period. The analysts currently predict a 14% rise. Even if prices fell back to pre-conflict there'd still be a big rise because the algorhytm is based on the average over three months and its been high for two.
Never mind the fact the Price Cap is designed to be a default tariff for those who've never switched and I'm talking about only fixing if you can save now

@MartinSLewis Ridiculous scaremongering

@Keasty86 @MartinSLewis @OctopusEnergy They already do, you can get a fixed on both Go and Intelligent Go

@182_DuncH @hockeyshooter @OctopusEnergy What’s a smart meter got to do with this post? … absolutely nothing.
English

I exported more than 3x the electricity than I used over last week - but sadly because @OctopusEnergy pay so little for export, I only earned about £3. During the brighter months, its better to use as much of your #solar electricity as possible so that you never have to buy any.

English

@hockeyshooter @OctopusEnergy Sign yourself up to Axle and take part in their export sessions… £1 per kWh ⚡️
Also, if you sign up using this link you’ll get a £25 bonus straight away

@Bankersbonus1 @Earth2075 Who do you think actually believes you when you say something so stupid as ‘my friend has a £50k heating bill’ ?
Just utter drivel.
English

@Earth2075 I live in an old house which is quite long. I’ve been told by 3 different plumbers a heat pump won’t work or I’d have to have several and Replumb the house: cost 30-50k. A friend built a (large)house with 2 heat pumps: heating bill last year 50k
English

A typical conversation about heat pumps 🗣️
People: Heat pumps are more expensive than gas boilers.
Me: Mine cost £400.
People: Well, I know they don’t work with small pipes. You need all your pipes changing.
Me: I have 10mm plastic pipes.
People: Yeah but, they’re more expensive to run.
Me: It’s been cheaper to run than gas.
People: Yeah but, that’s because it’s summer. Just you wait until winter.
Me: I’ve been through winter. It was still cheaper than gas.
People: That’s only because you’ve spent thousands on solar panels and batteries.
Me: I don’t have either.
People: Well, even if it’s cheaper, your house is still colder.
Me: It’s set to the same temperature as it was with a gas boiler.
People: Yeah but, it’s really noisy when it’s cold.
Me: It’s quieter than my gas boiler was.
People: Prove it!
Me: Posts a vid.
People: Yeah but it’s ugly!
Me: Having FOUR smelly wheelie bins in your back garden isn’t a problem though.
People: Well, I’ll be sticking with my gas boiler!

I am looking at the legal case to push for a Judicial Review against mad Ed Milliband granting the UKs largest Solar Farm. Will keep you posted. @reformparty_uk

@JohnLeePettim13 A colleague has seen these being disposed of in the Saudi desert... Pouring petrol on them and setting them on fire

Chemicals, byproducts, and greenhouse gases in solar panels.
Chemicals: hydrochloric acid, hydroflouric acid, sodium hydroxide, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrogen fluoride, phosphine and arsine gas, phosphorus oxychloride and trichloride, boron bromite and trichloride, lead.
Byproducts: trichlorosilane gas, silicon tetrachloride, toxic particluates from wafer sawing
Greenhouse gases: Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) – 25,000 times more potent than CO2, Nitrogen trifluoride (NF3) – 17,000 times more potent than CO2, Hexafluoroethane (C2F6) – 12,000 times more potent than CO2

@jameschappers Ed seems to be one of the only MP’s whos got his head screwed on and takes his job seriously. Every announcement he makes is something big and positive pushing us forward…. It’s quite refreshing.
English

Well done Ed Miliband. China has been leaving us and much of the rest of the world behind when it comes to solar power and we need to catch up.

☀️ Ed Miliband has approved Britain’s biggest solar farm despite objections from nearby residents who likened it to Chernobyl. It will cover seven square miles of farmland in solar panels, an area 10 times greater than London’s Hyde Park. 🔗: telegraph.co.uk/business/2026/…

Disgraceful appalling decision
We @reformparty_uk will do our best to stop this being built or connected
