Some folks over the next few weeks as it dawns on them that a majority of Australia's fuel comes from oil that is shipped through the Strait of Hormuz and then refined....

@tonydunsttv @CarOnPolymarket In 1988 it took a year to get the straits open for business again during the tanker wars. During the embargo in 1973, even Times Square lights were switched off to save fuel. Today even a 4 week closure is going to have ramifications we haven't even started to experience yet.

Am I crazy for thinking this is getting over-heated? The Dems have some very difficult seats to flip in the senate, and essentially have to get them all. People got a short memory and the Iran stuff is quite likely to have died down by fall, even if there’s still some Hormuz issues.

The stories that the admin/pentagon was blind sided by Iran closing the strait is the most outrageous oversight I have ever seen in war planning if true.

Coming out of college, I was developing a turmeric drink company with a friend. We were testing it on campus at @UofIllinois When we broke down the cost per bottle, it looked roughly like this: Ingredients: ~5¢ Bottle + cap: ~35¢ Label/packaging: ~10¢ Shipping: ~30¢ Production: ~20¢ Total cost was about $1 per drink. The actual liquid inside was by far the cheapest part. Most of the cost was the bottle and shipping. This is also why so many drinks are made from concentrate. Remove the water → shipping costs drop dramatically → then the water gets added back in at a local factory. (Found these old photos recently)
