I'm a Smurf. I've been hired to run counter-intelligence operations at Smurf Village. My role is political; I've personally gone up against the evil wizard Gargamel. Then a prominent Smurf gets assassinated. They say Gargamel's people did it. Case closed, move along. But I get access to the dead Smurf's private messages. And there's Peewit. Right there in the chats. The same Peewit I've been laser-focused on all year. Pressuring him. Making demands. I bring this to Papa Smurf and his inner circle. I bring it with alarm. Papa Smurf looks at me funny. And then — just like that — I'm kicked out of the investigation. No explanation. Just... out. This is the final proof that Peewit is controlling the Smurf Village. I know what I saw. I have to get the truth out there. So I do the unthinkable. I leak the information.

Things that are unnecessarily complicated: Online recipes. I don’t need your life story, a vineyard tour, and three paragraphs about your grandmother’s herb garden. Just tell me how long to bake the chicken. Also the 15 minute prep time is a lie. That took me an hour.

That's not why. He wasn't a leftist. They hated him for that. He made The APOSTLE, a drama about evangelical Christians that was respectful and nuanced, and not a Righteous Gemstones-style hit piece. He had to make it with his own money because Hollywood would not finance it. He also played Stalin in a four hour mini series for Showtime, which Hollywood ignored because it told some truths about about communism, while they made countless movies about McCarthyism. And probably no other major star in Hollywood would have even taken on that role. Telling the truth about Stalin and communism would have been too "risky." But Duvall wanted that role. He had values that they could not stand, but he was too good at his craft and too big a star for them to cancel him altogether. They hated him because he did not fear them. He was one of the greatest actors of all time, up there with Hackman. The first scene I ever did in a movie was in Days of Thunder, and it was with Duvall. That's one hell of a way to start. He was one of one.

The number of people who clearly use AI to craft basic posts on this site, and replies to posts, is pretty shocking. Once you learn how to spot AI writing, you see it absolutely everywhere on here. It’s unmistakable. The tech has existed for 10 seconds and already huge swaths of people have completely given up on even the simplest forms of creative writing.
