I knew when the Gasly penalty was overturned, it was an absolute mistake to change it and it has opened up a massive can of worms.
Changing it admitted factual error on part of the FIA, and that has given foothold to 3 teams now appealing the results of the Monaco GP.
Literally 30% of the teams are appealing a result, Alpine did as well. This is very significant.

@KMSone_ @quadrantalerror @the_zb_ @F1_driven Yup but the ADUO is weird. How do they measure it correctly like imagine 1 upgrade close that 6% difference. Do they say no or because previous test says 6% they get more upgrades still? I don’t get the new engine rules too much

I have it on very good authority that the Bills new gray jerseys making the rounds are in fact the on field version. They are going to be paired with a blue helmet NOT with the charging Buffalo on it with some semblance of the red stripe and looking more like an actual Buffalo charging forward. The stripe wraps around and connects around the back of the helmet. The visual is going to look similar to this Lions combo.

The FIA’s decision has legit created a mechanism by which the other teams can now lodge a (now verified legitimate) complaint against the actual classification of the race.
Monaco’s results may legit be under scrutiny now, all because of the Gasly decision.

Well this could get interesting. The Alpine petition for a right of review has been deemed admissible, so Gasly's penalties will now be reviewed:
"FOM ... provided evidence that the distance used in calculating the F1 Official Timing (and hence the pit lane speed) was inaccurate and overestimated the speed of Car 10" #F1

Ferrari planned the introduction of a similar solution to the W17's serrated diffuser trailing edge earlier this year, but the proposal was ultimately rejected by the FIA. It later being deemed legal on the Mercedes.
A formal request of clarification was sent to the FIA's office regarding the matter between Montreal and Monaco.

Maybe it was actually adopted because of CFD results… and has been in development for months.
But hey, maybe next Lewis and Charles can rewrite our adaptive harvesting algorithms? Or develop a new carbon fiber weave with alternate tensile strength properties?
But seriously, I do find it both comical and sad that so many want to attribute so much to the drivers. Give these incredible engineers the credit (and blame) that they alone deserve.
