Signing Hamilton was a mistake in terms of team mentality & approach. Went for the hire for publicity instead of getting staff that can strengthen the team. He has more experience than 95% of the grid and he's complaining about settings and buttons. He's not a +

A very controversial take some might not like but investing 100mil on a driver his former team(achieved immeasurable success together) decided might have reached end of potential when you have Leclerc in team is going to start looking like a bad decision. Newey was allowed to go

@hadi_pawar driver feedback being a contributing factor is one thing, terming it a determinant factor is another. A car being fast or mid will not be decided by driver feedback

Do you know why Charles Leclerc has so much class, both as a driver and as a person? Last year, he was out there fighting on his own in a tractor against the McLaren rocketships and Max Verstappen. The result: 7 podiums and a pole position. And not once did he go in front of the cameras to complain about getting no help from his teammate.

@noobbricks No disrespect to Nico but Lewis would’ve absolutely won every single GP the year after if he was still there cause ohh boy… Nico literally ditched everything in life to have a shot at winning it.. He was so locked in that he stopped his life for it…but it wasn’t to happen again

Lando has been an absolute joy to watch this season btw. Just moving like a World Champion. I was sure we'd either see him take a massive step back (no longer having to fight for that dream) or a massive step forward this season and I'm glad its the latter. I think he definitely has another one in him if given the opportunity. Makes you wonder about what might've been had Nico stayed in the sport.

@russellatte no it’s not as simple as that don’t get fooled by this stupid guy here it’s all setup related… FOR EXAMPLE.. Look at lewis First stint when Antonelli was behind Lewis was taking the tighter line yet Antonelli wasn’t faster at times even slower…

@lowerlaptime No it’s not always the fastest line lewis when he was ahead of antonelli was doing a tighter line and antonelli wasn’t gaining on him whatsoever look at the first stint when they were in similar compounds tire life … Lewis at times was even faster with the tighter line

Stupid BS ALL OF THIS.
Zach Brown@the_zb_

I’m sure this will make some people mad... 😅 The “Charles only” fans need to do the same thing that the “Lewis only” fans needed to do: Drink a bit of objectivity juice, and call things as they are, not just from the perspective of your fandom. I often get lambasted here by driver fandoms, because people do not like reading the truth. I don’t care to placate anyone. 🤷🏻‍♂️ That was a masterclass from Lewis, and was why he was signed. He has full control of the team now. It was a fourth failed weekend in a row from Charles. The updated car is a huge positive for the team, and Lewis is playing the politics game masterfully to poise himself as the source of all positivity. Of course, we know the drivers don’t design cars, and the engineers deserve all the credit there. But he is rewarding their full commitment to prioritizing him with all development and internal favor after his mega-signing. That’s one thing Lewis does very well, and it may be his biggest asset. He knows that being in the best car at the right time is the path to success, and that diminishing your teammate’s standing then makes the pathway clear for you, making it less of a direct battle. He is being a masterful politician to secure team backing vs his teammates even before the results come, which in turn helps him achieve the results while diminishing the fight from his teammates. He’s always been very savvy at doing that, and when your team delivers a title challenging car that guarantees one of the drivers in that car the championship, you are well off because your teammate is already largely neutralized internally via politicking. Tip the cap to him for taking advantage of the Ferrari contract situation and Elkann’s eagerness to recreate this environment from Mercedes for him, and ultimately shifting the team away from Charles before the results ever came, specifically so he could deliver them. It’s ok to acknowledge that Lewis is carrying the team at the moment, just like Charles carried the team last year. It will probably shift around more throughout the year, but Charles simply doesn’t fit this regulatory cycle any more than Lewis fit GE. The non-racing components of this regulation cycle, where the aim is to not push and drive within the limits for energy maximization, is foreign to Charles. He may simply not be able to adapt to them in order to deliver clean execution. Lewis clearly has. It’s also perfectly reasonable to accept reality, and acknowledge that the team should strongly consider sacrificing Charles this season and throw all efforts towards Lewis for the remainder of the year in strategy priority, to fight for this WDC. It was Charles’ dream to return the title to Ferrari first, but his performances haven’t lived up to that when the opportunity has now arisen. Lewis is the one in form and the only one in a position to compete for the championship, if Merc have reliability woes. The gap is too large for Leclerc to do so, or to finish ahead of his teammate. You simply can’t recover from 2 DNFs, it is what it is. Charles is at a career crossroads here, which is very correct to state. He is a great talent, who like Lewis in GE, will be eager for these cars to be gone. But has a small chance to fight back and course correct now, but the environmental change within Ferrari will limit his effectiveness in that. He needs to sharpen his execution, yes, but also his political prowess. Economically, once Lewis was paid on such a large deal the future was set in stone for Leclerc as second priority in Maranello in 2024, and his only option is to beat Lewis in a realm shifted to be suited to him. That will be the hardest task he has faced. The unknown is which of them if fully prioritized, would actually have the higher ceiling? Unfortunately for Charles he has never been able to secure that level of support within Ferrari and has always had to battle without the full backing. As I said at signing in 2024, that will continue with Lewis here now.

Fantastic weekend and drive for Lewis, he had the pace to challenge for the win. And we’ll always take a break from a VSC as it normally screws us over (like it did Charles, one day it will help both pilots at once). He is looking very comfortable with the way Ferrari have moved the car, and this is a near peak Lewis. Game on if Merc can’t solve their reliability issues, he could well be brought back into a title race by reliability woes, which is crazy to imagine given the pace the Mercs started with. Could just be a bad weekend, but Merc faltered here. Downside is that Merc can make updates to a reliability issue in season without the need for ADUO if they can demonstrate a concern to the FIA. And them also getting ADUO is an unexpected blow to Ferrari. That’s 2026 over for Charles, unfortunately. Misses a VSC again in a good recovery drive, and yet another terminal car issue. No coming back from 2 DNF’s, so the remainder of this campaign for him should be about working towards car setup tweaks that help him get comfortable with the brakes and throttle feel. He needs to mentally scrap 2026, try to do a few crazy miracles here and there for fun, and focus on refinements to the car he needs like Lewis did in 2025. These Battery Cars are Leclerc’s version of GE for Lewis, he just doesn’t work with them and his pace has been off the mark. He’ll bounce back, no need for any panic, but it’s the toughest stretch of races of his career. Huge credit to the engineering team for delivering an incredible update package that has brought them much closer to Mercedes. I can’t help but think Merc suffered the most of anyone in these hot temps, but there’s more of those to come.

@herenowy How pathetic you are really… Lewis didn’t have any wrong intentions there he just meant they had the upper hand on strategy bcz they have 2 cars between him and he doesn’t have his teammate and Lewis’s always been supportive of charles ever since his debut in 2018 so shut up plz

@reddepression16 either you’re stupid or acting like 1 … he said that bcz he was referring to strategy advantage… nothing to do with criticising Charles performance himself.. just that merc will be able to play with strategy as lewis is a sandwich between them… they have the upper hand on that

I don't find myself criticising Lewis often, but I have no idea where the audacity to say this came from. One might wonder why he wasn't worried about that when he couldn't make it out of Q1 last year. Truly a crazy thing to say when Charles was supporting him entire 2025.
