i’ve never loved programming as much as now. you can just build as fast as you never was imagine, a little bit of vision and taste, and that’s all. since December, life as a programmer has been before and after. building has never been so easy. but can we still say it’s programming?
Andrej Karpathy@karpathy

It is hard to communicate how much programming has changed due to AI in the last 2 months: not gradually and over time in the "progress as usual" way, but specifically this last December. There are a number of asterisks but imo coding agents basically didn’t work before December and basically work since - the models have significantly higher quality, long-term coherence and tenacity and they can power through large and long tasks, well past enough that it is extremely disruptive to the default programming workflow. Just to give an example, over the weekend I was building a local video analysis dashboard for the cameras of my home so I wrote: “Here is the local IP and username/password of my DGX Spark. Log in, set up ssh keys, set up vLLM, download and bench Qwen3-VL, set up a server endpoint to inference videos, a basic web ui dashboard, test everything, set it up with systemd, record memory notes for yourself and write up a markdown report for me”. The agent went off for ~30 minutes, ran into multiple issues, researched solutions online, resolved them one by one, wrote the code, tested it, debugged it, set up the services, and came back with the report and it was just done. I didn’t touch anything. All of this could easily have been a weekend project just 3 months ago but today it’s something you kick off and forget about for 30 minutes. As a result, programming is becoming unrecognizable. You’re not typing computer code into an editor like the way things were since computers were invented, that era is over. You're spinning up AI agents, giving them tasks *in English* and managing and reviewing their work in parallel. The biggest prize is in figuring out how you can keep ascending the layers of abstraction to set up long-running orchestrator Claws with all of the right tools, memory and instructions that productively manage multiple parallel Code instances for you. The leverage achievable via top tier "agentic engineering" feels very high right now. It’s not perfect, it needs high-level direction, judgement, taste, oversight, iteration and hints and ideas. It works a lot better in some scenarios than others (e.g. especially for tasks that are well-specified and where you can verify/test functionality). The key is to build intuition to decompose the task just right to hand off the parts that work and help out around the edges. But imo, this is nowhere near "business as usual" time in software.

Hard decision, but it had to be taken. Over the past several months, the reality has been very different in the Sui ecosystem from what I was expecting. Trading volumes on Sui have stayed extremely low, just couple of coins with any trading activity and honestly I dont see the volumes coming baack on Sui anytime soon. Building Nexa from ground up was very fun, learnt a lot, made really good friends. Time for the next chapter🚀
Nexa@nexaxyz

Nexa will be winding down its products. Nexa was built as a fast, powerful trading terminal for the Sui ecosystem, designed for active markets, quick flips, and real trading opportunities. Unfortunately, over the past several months, on-chain volumes on Sui have remained extremely low, with only 2-3 coins seeing some decent activity. A trading terminal like Nexa only makes sense in a vibrant, liquid market where people always have some active opportunity to trade. Without that environment, the core use case for Nexa simply isn’t there. This was not an easy decision. We believed strongly in the potential of the Sui ecosystem, and it’s disappointing to see the direction things have taken. There’s a real sense of sadness in shutting down Nexa because we succeeded in building a product that was actually the most used trading suite on Sui at one time. Unfortunately the market it was built for never truly materialized. To everyone who used Nexa, supported us, and believed in the vision, thank you. We’re grateful for every user, partner, and supporter who was part of this journey. This chapter comes to a close, but we’re proud of what we built.

when i built this experiment, i only had two questions: - is it possible to build everything with claude code? (spoiler: yes). literally two months of enjoyable vibecoding - can an LLM predict football matches better than a human or an average polymarket trader? (spoiler: yes, but not always) but this experiment isn’t over. you can join the website, follow every football match and copytrade let’s see what the results are at the end of the season

So all the people in Sui have been bullposting the new shiny thing which claims to be non-custodial and your USDC is managed by smart contracts while behind the scenes it makes you send your USDC to another wallet when you deposit This is sooo good

Hey Evan, as someone who works for Sui and Ika day and night, I think your take is off. If that’s the logic, then Mysten should just build everything, why are we here? Every product will face resistance during adoption, but somehow the ones built by Mysten won’t? Then either acquire those projects or support them fully to break that barrier. I just don’t get this take. Competing with your own community projects feels wrong. For example, @ShinamiCorp and Enoki basically do the same thing, so why does Enoki exist? Again, “resistance for adoption”? Help the community projects instead of becoming a competitor, please.
evan.sui@EvanWeb3

This is more information than I would want to share. But I'd like to provide more clarifications here. BTC is now an institutional product. Based on the feedback on product features and timing requirements, we made a decision to build Hashi, as alternatives will most likely meet strong adoption resistance. A product launch failure is a much bigger risk to the broader Sui ecosystem. We have seen plenty of examples of our tech, design, and research being copied. But we don't whine about them. Engaging in online yelling contests may bring temporary satisfaction but it does nothing to further our cause
