💡🇺🇸 NEW: White House Releases AI Framework to Govern Tech for Americans Nationwide WASHINGTON—Today, @WhiteHouse @WHOSTP47 released a National Framework for Artificial Intelligence, which provides a blueprint for Congress to govern this nascent technology across America. “When it comes to AI, the Trump White House understands what is at stake and what it will take to win the future. AI is a true general-purpose technology with the capability to revolutionize every industry and bring about unparalleled new economic growth and prosperity. Americans have enjoyed immense benefits from leading the world in the internet age, from the efficiencies and conveniences provided by digital services and smart devices to economic and cultural power projection abroad,” said @pat_hedger, NetChoice Director of Policy. “The Trump administration understands that it was a light-touch regulatory environment, not 50 different confusing and conflicting regulatory regimes, that enabled the internet revolution and that innovation and investment in winning the AI future for America will require a similar approach.” Hedger continued: “While this framework is a positive step forward, on proposals like age assurance, the devil is in the details to ensure Americans do not face censorship for protected speech. The framework contains strong language on ‘preventing censorship and protecting free speech,’ but NetChoice cautions against laws that impose unconstitutional barriers to access, such as ID mandates, which endanger the privacy of users of all ages. Our cases from Arkansas to California and Ohio should inform Congress on this issue, and NetChoice stands ready to help enact a constitutional, effective framework for American AI dominance.” Read the White House’s National AI Policy Framework below ⤵️

I have repeatedly said that under no circumstances can we let China win the AI race. The world would be at risk of a powerful tool being in the hands of an adversary that could be used for global surveillance and control. @POTUS is taking meaningful steps, including the framework released today, to protect our values of free speech and ensure American leadership in AI. I look forward to working with the White House and members of the Commerce Committee to advance meaningful AI legislation that safeguards free speech, establishes regulatory sandboxes, protects children, and provides a national standard for AI in the United States.

In December, President Trump signed an Executive Order tasking us with the development of a national framework for AI, what he called “One Rulebook.” This was in response to a growing patchwork of 50 different state regulatory regimes that threaten to stifle innovation and jeopardize America’s lead in the AI race. Today we are releasing that framework. It will help parents safeguard their children from online harm, shield communities from higher electric bills, protect our First Amendment rights from AI censorship, and ensure that all Americans benefit from this transformative technology. We look forward to working with our colleagues in Congress to turn the principles we are announcing today into legislation. whitehouse.gov/articles/2026/…

It’s funny. The government will regularly complain about “misinformation” when people are talking about things in ways they don’t like. But here’s Ofcom blatantly pushing out misinformation to make it seem reasonable. As if anyone needed more reason to reject governmental attempts at censorship and narrative control. God bless the First Amendment.

The fact that a community note on X more accurately states legal reality about Web censorship than the entire Westminster political apparatus is the reason that the UK and EU want to censor X.

Digital ID requirements do two things: block your access to lawful speech and create massive security risks that lead to data breaches. Age verification laws undermine safety for everyone, especially kids.

Lawmakers are considering new rules that could restrict these digital tools that companies are using to help families save money. Instead of more red tape, we need a clear, federal data privacy standard that protects consumers instead of punishing them at the checkout counter. buff.ly/tysYacN

The consumer welfare standard is the north star of U.S. antitrust policy. It ensures antitrust enforcement focuses on what matters most: Americans.

For decades, the consumer welfare standard has delivered a dynamic economy. Abandoning it for vague standards would deliver Americans higher prices and less choice. Let’s keep the focus where it belongs: on the consumer.

European regulators (with the help of Biden’s radical progressive antitrust agenda) didn’t just stop the iRobot merger. They kneecapped a frontier American company, killed hundreds of U.S. jobs, and provided a massive, unearned victory to Chinese state-backed competitors.

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that how a platform organizes content is protected editorial judgment. #HB227 bans "profile-based feeds" for minors. That's not regulating a feature — it's regulating speech. Kentucky courts will have to sort it out and it won't be cheap. #1A

The claim that AI data centers are draining America’s water supply falls apart under basic SCRUTINY. Data centers use LESS than 0.5% of U.S. freshwater, while leaky infrastructure wastes over 15 times more and irrigation uses more than 100 times as much. There is also NO documented case anywhere in the country where AI infrastructure has increased household water prices.
