@rosesukroses yes it is. She doesn't think so but I found fly eggs on her fleece so I am glad I caught them in time. I will probably shear her tomorrow as well as give her a wormer & keep her in for a bit. Sheep are really poor patients & not at all grateful!

This is the face of Bramble - a very annoyed ewe who was just caught, carried to the barn & penned in for the sin of scouring. It is fly season now so she needs to be treated to prevent blowfly strike. I have left her dagged, covered in tea-tree smelling barrier repel & with hay.

@NetherfieldV2 Better to be annoyed for a little while now than to have a lot of pain and discomfort later. I hope she recovers soon.💚

@AnnMile71721158 for your edification scouring is diarrhoea often caused by lush green forage. Given it has been very dry & the grass is not lush (& none of the other sheep have it) I suspect she needs to be wormed. Dagging is using shears to remove the wool around the rear end of mucky sheep 😊

First gosling of the year hiding under mum. I thought she was sitting too hard so moved her & found a little gosling among the eggs. Clever girl!

@NetherfieldV2 Ooh - this is lovely. I’m going to see if I can find this one , would be very appropriate in my garden since I live in Ottawa 🙂

The pretty buttery yellow Rugosa 'Agnes' before the rain arrived. Covered in armoured dark red buds which open to ruffled double blooms with a citrus scent. Introduced 1902 by Dr William Saunders of the Central Experimental Farm, Ottowa from a cross with Rosa foetida persiana 🌹

@fugitiveink looks rather like Rosa xanthina ‘Canary Bird' which is musk-scented.

Here's a delightful rose seen on the way down to Wiveton earlier today. I wonder which one it is?

No sunset photo tonight, it was raining too hard & I was sloshing around trying to finish the chores while getting drenched. The plants are singing in happiness though. Instead here is glorious frothy Crab apple Malus x transitoria 'Thornhayes Tansy' in full bloom this afternoon

Early this morning I went on a little adventure to collect my latest bargain. I wanted a ceramic strawberry planter but didn't like the prices.. then I came upon this glazed vented Victorian chimney pot which was being used upside down for just that purpose. A monster planter!
