For years, Australians have been sold the same political act from Pauline Hanson and Barnaby Joyce about standing up for “Aussie battlers”.
Yet while Queensland farmers were dealing with devastating floods, losing livestock, homes and livelihoods, taxpayers were reportedly footing a $15,000 bill for Hanson and Joyce to fly around for media stunts handing out packets of Tim Tams despite travelling on a private jet linked to billionaire mining magnate Gina Rinehart.
Now we’re learning another $3,000 in taxpayer-funded travel was spent so they could attend private functions aboard a luxury cruise ship hosted by Rinehart herself.
The real Aussie battlers aren’t politicians mingling with billionaires.
They’re the families sleeping in cars and tents because they can’t find affordable housing. They’re the farmers staring at flood ravaged properties wondering how they’ll rebuild. They’re the small business owners struggling under rising costs. They’re the mums and dads lying awake at night trying to work out how they’ll cover the mortgage, power bill and groceries next week. They’re the volunteers filling sandbags while politicians pose for photos.
It’s incredible what some people will overlook. But sure, apparently a packet of Tim Tams and another rant about migrants or public bathrooms is the answer to Australia’s problems.

Yes, this is exactly what I’m fighting. People just being like “that didn’t happen“ who clearly knows zero about it.
There was cancel culture coming from the left and from the right, but for a long time, it was dominated by the left, now it’s dominated by the right. We are fighting that with everything we have.
But watching the people on the left to take zero responsibility for what happened from 2014 up or even just trying to memory hole it is utterly maddening.

There was no cancel culture. There was people making decisions based on politics and the consequences they suffered as a result. I can’t go around my place of employment calling everyone I don’t like an asshole. I’ll lose my job. I know that so I don’t do it. I have the freedom to do so, but I know better. My opinion doesn’t supersede the code of conduct. Neoconservatives and libertarians feel like the rules don’t apply to them. If they say or do something fucked up, that’s just the way it is. Accountability is for other people, not them. What they say or do is somehow rooted in divinity and backed by their version of the constitution. Life doesn’t work that way. Grow the fuck up and be accountable. You weren’t “cancelled”, you were flagged. You likely lost income or opportunities because you chose to ignore conventional wisdom.

I didn't want to bring this discussion into this direction. I wish commentators like Sophie had more dignity during times like this and genuine concern for kids like Henry Nowak. But they want another nonsensical culture war debate instead, which keeps them getting money from views online, TV appearances, fundraisers etc. That's why they focus on literally 0.001% of the problem. There has long been an issue of murderous thuggery on British streets. This is a result of a lack of community, a lack of religion (spiritual connection) and over emphasis of divisions by a media/political class with a different agenda. And Sophie furthers that agenda. Prove me wrong Sophie. Let's have a sensible discussion on how we can help bring communities together. Banning the kirpan will change nothing about daily life in Britain. Ban knives and an angry youth will grab scissors. Ban scissors and your forks are then a threat. This crisis is deeper than objects. But if you want to persist with these shenanigans, go ahead. That's your career. I get it. Understand though, it may mean you never wear your stilettos again.

What I find interesting is the double standard.
Australia is full of ethnic, cultural, and community organisations that openly advocate for their communities’ interests. We have Greek organisations, Italian organisations, Islamic organisations, Zionists organisations, Indian organisations, Chinese organisations, Lebanese organisations and countless others. Nobody bats an eyelid.
But the moment people start discussing the Anglo-Celtic foundations of Australia, or the people who built the country, suddenly it’s treated as taboo.
Why?
Why is every group allowed to celebrate its heritage, organise around its community, and advocate for its interests, except the founding culture of the nation itself?

@smg1664 Our officers were misled at the scene, including denial of weapon use. They quickly switched to life-saving aid within minutes but, as laid out in our statement, the medical evidence shows that the injuries were not survivable. A very sad case, our thoughts are with his family.
