Is this what you thought Yellowstone Park was like? Unmoving traffic jams lasting 1-3 hours; rivaling that of suburban areas in big cities. Nowhere to park. Insane prices. Tourists harassing animals, littering, picking flowers, influencers everywhere, sticking their hands in basins and ruining them, no good camping spots left because people use AI programs to snatch up the good ones within milliseconds of the site opening up, and most of your day spent behind Asian tourist busses. The overwhelming amount of tourists have made the park experience unbearable. You used to be able to go there and explore nature peacefully. Now it's worse than Disneyland.

@audrawrongspeak Rooming in is definitely a huge help. I would probably rather move the crib to my room though. That way you can sleep comfortably too.

Best tips on maximizing sleep with a newborn? I’m thinking of getting a mattress pad and just laying in her room since she loves her crib. That way I have a shorter distance to respond. Anyone have anything else that might help?

I read a study a while back that said the majority of women are worse off and less happy post-divorce than they were pre-divorce. Divorce is very bad for women. It is terrible for children. And it is not good for men either. But that was the choice instead of working things out.

now this starts to feel like more interesting commentary to me. at white collar jobs there's a lot of implicit pressure to grow the fuck up, because you're exposed to peers who manifestly have their shit together. used to be lower class people would have a kid and community members would push them to get their shit together too. older coworkers even at dead end jobs, church and other local communities, etc. but if these days the 27 yo teenagers working retail aren't having kids and basically have no older peers with their shit together in any meaningful way, what incentive do they have to do anything but keep watching the same anime in discord calls? who are you feeling social pressure from?
