@TheCinesthetic I think the decision to force this out in theaters during Covid really, REALLY hurt it. I understand that they were dealing with unprecedented times and all that, but I think this movie receives a much better reception if they had waited a few years.

Tenet (2020) isn’t about solving it, it’s about locking into the vibe. The inverted visuals, the sound design, the forward and backward momentum all at once. It plays like a feeling more than a puzzle.

Ocean’s Twelve (2004) is wildly misunderstood. It’s less a slick heist and more an inside-joke, Euro-styled hangout movie about movie stars being movie stars. Once that clicks, the whole thing suddenly works.

@TheCinesthetic The biggest knock on T3 is that it's just unnecessary; the series should have ended with T2, but Hollywood can't help itself, and they were always going to make sequels (and lots of them). I will say, T3 has an awesome ending however, the strongest point of the film by far.

Terminator 3 (2003) gets written off mostly because it isn’t T2. But taken on its own, it’s a solid, fun sci-fi action movie with a genuinely great ending. What people bounced off is the idea it pushes: you can fight fate, but you can’t outrun it forever.
