Anyone here following @exchange_union ? xud looks like a nice implementation of @OpenDexNetwork protocol allowing Layer 2 atomic swaps between LTC <-> BTC <-> ETH (and ERC20)

@JamesSpediacci Unpopular opinion: That would be pretty bad for everyone. More trusted synthetic wrapped tokens and an even more unusable ETH1. Swaps should work cross-chain; coins/tkns only exist+settle on their native chain. Defi on ETH should use ETH tokens. Things like wBTC are a time bomb.

Pretty soon every other blockchain will wrap their token on Ethereum. Ethereum has cemented itself as the world’s decentralized settlement layer.

@lightcoin @CurrencyTycoon @RyanSAdams Indeed there is no reliable (central) place to measure order book liquidity. To be fair, we are still early and definitely well below UniSwap. Just would want to make sure to not wake up last ;)

@CurrencyTycoon @RyanSAdams @OpenDexNetwork Since OpenDEX swaps happen p2p and offchain I'm not actually sure it's even possible to get accurate volume measurements. Order book liquidity is probably the most visible and relevant stat to look at.

Ethereum is more decentralized than Bitcoin because it has DeFi instead of just crypto banks

This is a really good point. Ethereum / ERC20s is mainly used in decentralized platforms (dapps) - see @UniswapProtocol beating CEX Bitcoin doesn't have smart contracts so is mainly used in centralized platforms for anything other than payments.
