Iran has set up a controlled shipping lane through the Strait of Hormuz where vessels move only after direct coordination and approval from Tehran. Governments including China, Pakistan, India, Iraq, and Malaysia are engaging Iran directly to clear their ships, with the IRGC running a registration and vetting system for passage. At least 9 vessels have already transited using a route close to Larak Island, where Iranian naval and port authorities visually confirm them before exit. In at least one case, a tanker paid around $2 million for passage, marking the first known monetization of access through the strait under this system. Traffic remains limited, but the mechanism is in place. Movement through Hormuz is now structured, negotiated, and filtered through Iranian control rather than open transit.

The US is out of stand-off munitions and has been lying about flying sorties directly over Iran, opting for safer stand-off cruise missile based strikes instead, launched from the periphery or foreign airspace. Today, wanting to strike harder but lacking stand-off munition stockpiles, they probably attempted a stealth-platform based direct-overflight airstrike and it already resulted in an F-35 being confirmed to have been hit. There is 0 chance the USA would ever risk a much more visible platform, like B2s or F-15s or F-16s or F-18 hornets, flying directly over Iran. Hegseth was lying when he said that the USA had air dominance over Iran, that much is proven now.
