@BethRigby So only #Starmer is allowed to state how bad the decision was. It was calculated; that he would get better results from the US & Trump. But he didn't think of Epstein, victims, nor previous Mandelson issues, nor us the public. It wasn't a mistake, it was arrogant misjudgement.

WATCH: Starmer on ‘beating himself up’ over Mandelson is worth watching because I really think it’s a very rare & believable moment where Starmer reveals how he’s really feeling; showing some vulnerability and anger with himself over the decision he took

@treesey @bbcnickrobinson It's intimidating to ask such a direct, emotive question at your home. It's not political party campaigning, asking can I count on your vote (yes / no). If the homeowner wants to ask more of the political party they will. (They own the discussion), unlike the Greens approach.

@BethRigby Why is #starmer making a virtue out of "his mistake". Maybe he should confess to having poor judgement, but there is no virtue in that.

NEW: I asked PM directly on whether he had misled the House when he said due process had been followed regarding Mandelson’s appointment. ‘No’ He says it’s clear the process isn’t robust enough & says again it was ‘my mistake’ and I apologise for that

@DPJHodges And when his decision is questioned; he says it's a mistake. His mistake with Mandelson was a judgement call that he thought he could use Mandelson to deal with Trump. A political decision snafu'd by his lack of a political radar.

To save me answering the same question, all politicians lie. Boris was an inveterate liar. But I have never seen a Prime Minister who has combined such extensive lying with such a broad and un-self-aware attempt to frame themself as a paragon of virtue, as Keir Starmer.

This from @Geoffrey_Cox was titanic - a truly beautiful speech. He outshone those sat opposite. They could only watch. And nervously laugh. This should be seen by every new MP to understand what they do, & every new barrister to understand what we do.

@drhingram Threw up on Metaxa 5 (i think it was) many many years ago in Corfu - it had a crusty top when discovered in the morning. Luckily wasn't sleeping on my back.

What happened to reaching the summit #laoty No Paul Henry (but he is a one-off). The artist loved her painting; wonder what future visitors to the National Gallery of Ireland think. And what the citizens of Westport and Co Mayo think. Time for different judges.

@SandyofSuffolk He appears to think he becomes more statesman like, the slower he speaks. Whereas he comes across as a badly programmed robot speaking with long gaps between words. Result being we want him to stop speaking rather than hanging on every word. Not a good sound nor tone for a PM.

@BBCPolitics Why does the PM speak in a slow tone? Is he demonstrating his leadership style? If that is the case...the slowness of response to date fits. If his government was prepared then he should have had the judgement to assess an escalation strategy by Iran. Poor judgement #starmer

@Simon_Nixon What a back to front comparison. Falklands moment is about intervention. To me it shows his credentials that international law is his bedrock for either inaction or action (after the event). Seems out of touch with current geopolitics.

An elderly, white moron scans food she’s not going to buy, as it’s a bit Jewy. Don’t worry Doris, low paid staff will tidy up your mess. In the background a Muslim guy completely ignores her idiocy but needs an assistant to take the tag off his Lambrusco.

@BethRigby Starmer could have used the preamble prior to PMQs to explain all the details as to what the government is doing to protect lives. Instead he chose not to answer questions and drip feed details on evacuation etc. Your assessment in my opinion is flawed @BethRigby

Well, with country in a state of high anxiety over the war in Iran, Badenoch chooses to go on the attack. She piles into Starmer asking why UK is not carrying out defensive bond raids on Iran, pivots to defence spending and calls him 'pathetic and weak'. Starmer is absolutely excoriating in return as he takes the high ground: "I spent the week protecting British lives and our national interests. Moments like this define a leader of the opposition. They can either step up, act in the national interest and show that they're fit to be Prime Minister, or they can expose their utter irrelevance. She has chosen the second."

@MartinSLewis Joint for us. Separate acc for partner. Joint pays to partner. Partner pays food and incidentals, whats left is theirs. Joint pays for all utilities, services and manages investments with material changes discussed, whats left is theirs. Income goes to Joint. Works out equal.

The next tranche of celebrities swanning around the world thinking we'll be interested are: Bill Bailey in Vietnam. Alexander Armstrong in India. Julia Bradbury in Antarctica. And we've only just got over Rylan Clarke and Rob Rinder in India. 🙄 Anyone else sick of these people getting free holidays and thinking we'll somehow be interested in their take on the destinations?

Neil Sedaka's first number one hit was Oh! Carol in 1960. He wrote the song about his high school ex girlfriend Carol Klein. It turned out he and Carol would both be working together in the Brill Building as song writers. But Carol Klein was now Carole King.

@darrenpjones Relatively questionable as a policy let alone your interminable patronising tone. The ineluctable desire for your old "new Labour" government to lose after one term is quite astonishing.

I just voted to lift the two-child cap - a policy introduced by the Tories which punishes children who were born into a poor family. Nigel Farage wants to keep it and instead give tax breaks to foreign billionaires. I know whose side I'm on.

@darrenpjones @AntoniaRomeoUK Maybe the fixing needs to start a little bit nearer to home...as in the questionable performance of the government to date, on your route to "change". So far not so good, which is a shame as your party promised so much in your "not the Tories" offer to the electorate.
