Yesterday, @HouseSmallBiz held a hearing to discuss how @SBAgov’s Office of Field Operations serves small businesses nationwide. @HouseSmallBiz is dedicated to hearing and finding solutions to the issues Main Street faces.

It was a pleasure welcoming my good friend General Funk Jr. to my D.C. office this week. I am grateful for his decades of service and continued leadership on behalf of our great nation.

Today, I met with Andrew Watterson, CEO of @SouthwestAir, to discuss the ongoing impacts of the DHS shutdown. Democrats need to work across the aisle and fund DHS.

This week, I welcomed @KilleenISD_ leadership to discuss the importance of supporting our schools. Preparing the next generation for success begins with ensuring our students and educators have the resources they need.

Due to the Democrat-led shutdown, air traffic controllers and TSA agents are working without pay, and staffing shortages are straining our aviation system. Time and again, Senate Democrats are putting politics over the safety of the American people.

It was a pleasure meeting with Arlington’s Council Members this week to discuss key federal priorities. Through strong local and federal partnerships, North Texas will continue to grow.

I appreciated the opportunity to meet with Family Enterprise USA to discuss the issues impacting family-owned businesses. These businesses play a vital role in our economy, and as Chairman of @HouseSmallBiz, I will continue to support their long-term success.

The Trump Administration put an end to the often abused work-from-home policies that left small businesses unable to reach @SBAgov employees. WATCH: Chairman @RepRWilliams and Ms. Shimkat highlight how requiring SBA employees to return to the office and move them into the fields—closer to Main Street—has improved response time and helped small businesses get the resources they need to succeed.

Under @SBA_Kelly and @POTUS, more @SBAgov employees are in the field, connecting directly with Main Street America. I commend @POTUS for establishing the Fraud Task Force to protect taxpayer dollars. What we saw in Minnesota was a failure of oversight and accountability. That cannot happen again. Every bad actor must be held accountable.
