@NintyPrime wait until its 100% digital and they tell everyone digital games are going to be variable up to $80. This will feel bad then. Pricing out physical to destroy the market.

There it is. Nintendo ain't messing around. No, games aren't going to go up in price. Not happening. According to them. So this is nothing other than digital games are just cheaper now. Take it, or leave it.

This is big! Starting in May, Nintendo physical games will cost more than digital games on Switch 2! Good riddance to physical media 😂. This is the beginning of the end for cartridges. I’ve been all digital for years now 🤷🏾‍♂️. Since Yoshi is $60 digitally, I’m assuming the physical cartridge version will be around $70.

Nintendo is doing the thing (variable pricing) in a way people have said they wanted (cheaper digital games). $69.99 for Yoshi physically, $59.99 digitally. Reason? Rising cost of physical, basically. Do you like the change?

@PlayerEssence Makes sense if they are gearing up to sell a removable battery Switch 2 for the EU market. Also makes sense if there is a chip shortage and it costs too much to manufacture them.

Bloomberg is reporting Nintendo is cutting production of the Switch 2 by 30% because of weak US sales. But as many have said on my previous post, some have doubts about the validity of the story based on their track record on Nintendo. So I think it's best we wait till Nintendo's financial report in May. x.com/firstadopter/s…

There is no proof of Bloomberg's given reason behind the reduction. I don't think it is coincidental that reports show Nintendo is getting ready to launch a Switch 2 with removeable battery for the EU market per their new law around repairability and then this report of OG reduction in production.

This is just speculation. Its from a Bloomberg report with no proof of the reason behind why Nintendo is doing this. What if they are doing this because EU forced them to sell a console with a removable battery? Maybe they are lowering production for the OG because EU market changed?
