@benjaminluk Yes! I spent 6 weeks in Mexico and Guatemala (away from resorts) with no Spanish aside from what you could learn in a day on Duolingo and had no trouble whatsoever.

If a tourist only knows English, can they get around Mexico easily?

Twitter’s algorithm thinks I mostly want to see tweets from people I don’t follow & especially want to see tweets from a person I don’t follow who has just received a terminal cancer diagnosis. Like, every time I open Twitter: people I don’t know who just found out they’re dying.

@sthomas10 @TELUS Happens all the time when I’m on Sidney Island and @TELUS happily charges me roaming fees even when I explain I didn’t leave the country but I can’t turn roaming off if that means I won’t get service🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyone else have this happen with @TELUS ? I was travelling from Victoria to Vancouver on the ferry & I received this message, followed up by an email alerting me that someone on my plan is travelling within the US.
