While it seems impronable - that would be amazing. Wouldnt be shocked if new playoff format was put in plave partly with Monterrey (Mexico) plus another tv partner in mind.

@mfsportsalot It won't be so bad when it's 8 of 12 teams. I see the optics of 8 of 9. However... picking a random year like 1986 in the NHL a 23 win, 25 win and 26 win teams made the playoffs. hockey-reference.com/leagues/NHL_19…

There's been more CFL talk from December to April this year since probably mid-90s. Pro/Con it's getting attention and drawing more eyes than the usual post-Grey Cup quiet period with a little perk for free agency.

@MiltStegallTSN Milt, I just don’t like moving the start of the season up to the May long weekend. Head to head with NHL playoffs is suicide in Canada. There will be less butts in seats and lower TV ratings for the first month of the season.

Completely agree. People focus on “8/9 teams” but miss the point. Every game matters more for seeding. You can’t luck into the Grey Cup with one win, and top teams actually get rewarded. Earn it.

Love the new playoff format. For those complaining 8/9 teams make the playoffs, the flip side is: A) every game matters as teams battle down stretch to get in/seeding B) can no longer advance to Grey Cup by winning only one playoff game C) top teams can earn two playoff gates

@2andOutCFL exams time at most universities is mid april .. April 5th to 25th at latest. nfl minI camp schedule is bigger issue since most quality picks go to theses .. my guess is they will have to decide

Another thing to watch in 2027: CFL draft is April 13. Based on this year the NFL draft would start April 22, 2027. That’s going to affect teams eyeing Canadian players who will get NFL interest.

@BuffaloSportsCo That's fair. The upsides are that these are the best lacrosse players in the world with the best exposure to the game. The downside is being a middle tier sports leagues doesn't allow our teams to get top booking at their home rinks.

@RidleyScouting I do agree. But not a big fan of comparing things to the past. Rather improve it for future. But to me it’s still way less about the actual location the game is played and way more about the appearance it shows to average and new fans. Imagine this happening in any other league

Game 2 & Game 3 (if necessary) of the semifinals between the Halifax Thunderbirds & Georgia Swarm will be held in Halifax. May 9th is Game 2. May 10th is Game 3.

@BuffaloSportsCo @LofflerScott @AdamLeviLAX Two things. It's still better than the old mini-game tiebreaker. Honestly Georgia is 7-2 on the road and 8-2 if you include the neutral site game. Might not be as big of a disadvantage.

@LofflerScott @AdamLeviLAX Right. Again this isn’t about assigning blame. I get week notice isn’t easy or sometimes even possible especially to some locations. So regardless if it’s controllable or not. Does not shine a good look on the league for a lower seed to possible host 2 home games. That’s all.

Oh no. You hate to see this. The Georgia Swarm's star rookie Michael Grace goes down with a non-contact injury. You never want to see this happen to any athlete, but Grace has been one of the best rookies in the NLL this season.
