@iamviveksri @FinMinIndia #KeepDisabilityPensionTaxFre It amounts to misleading the parliament committee which is mini parliament. Would the Honourable FM look into this serious issue and take remedial action to get Para 108 Column D(b) deleted to ensure actual status quo.

As per Para 11.5.7 page 297 of Select Committee Report on IT Bill 2025 @FinMinIndia apprised the Committee that exemption of Income Tax on Disability Pension will continue as the Honorable SC has ordered to “Maintain Status Quo”. Now in Para 108 D(6) of Finance Bill 2026 this exemption has been taken away from those Disabled Soldiers who Superannuated. Was the Committee misled? No appeal to the better senses of this BJP Government is going to get any reversal for #KeepDisabilityPensionTaxFree. The only tool available to affected veterans of the Indian Military & their well wishers is to use their vote well in the elections 2029. The courts will not help

Soldiers are the backbone of our nation, and they've proven time and again their bravery and dedication. It's disheartening to see the government remove income tax exemptions on disability pensions without considering the impact. It's a harsh move, especially for those who've sacrificed their health for the country. One can't help but wonder if this is an insult to their service. The decision-makers behind this move might want to reconsider - after all, soldiers aren't beggars, they're saviors. 🙏
