@ericjackson Canadians don't give a shit about prosperity. They live in fantasy-land, like you said, saying Canada is world-class when it's not anymore and there is no reason to say it is.

Canadian politicians of both parties keep telling us "Canada is world class." At what? Taxing its people to fund its best and brightest to leave and make other taxpayers richer? At what point do we wake up and demand this change?

Israel loses 22% of its computer science PhDs abroad. They call it a national emergency. The Knesset debates it. Newspapers run it front page. Canada loses 71% of Waterloo's best engineers. Nobody blinks. Nobody even notices! Shrug. Same problem. 4x worse. Zero urgency.

The Government of Spain demands the opening of Hormuz and the preservation of all the energy sites of the Middle East. We stand at a global tipping point. Further escalation could trigger a long-term energy crisis for all humanity. The world should not pay the consequences of this war.

@DeMiomandre @harleyf It's not false. An English sign is illegal. Any sign must be predominantly French. Not "should be". MUST be.

« In Montreal it is illegal to put up signs in English or any language other than French. » C'est tout simplement faux. Tous les messages politiques et religieux sont déjà exclus. Le français doit être proéminent, mais pour ma part je voudrais que tout ce qui est commercial ne soit qu'en français strictement. Il faudrait aussi franciser McGill.

The President of the United States learned that Robert Mueller had died. And he picked up his phone and typed: “Good. I’m glad he’s dead.” I need you to stop. Put down whatever you’re doing and feel the full weight of those words. Good. I’m glad he’s dead. Said by the man who holds the most powerful office in the history of human civilization. The office of Washington. Of Lincoln. Of Roosevelt standing in the rubble of Pearl Harbor promising a nation trembling in the dark that we would rise. That office. Those words. Now let me tell you who Robert Mueller was. He did not have to go to Vietnam. He had every reason not to. A Princeton degree. A blown-out knee. A future waiting for him in the comfort of civilian life. He waited a full year for that knee to heal, just so he could serve. Let that sink in. He walked into hell when other men were running from it. He came home with a Bronze Star for heroism and a Purple Heart soaked in the blood of his sacrifice. He spent the next four decades standing in the breach, as a prosecutor, as FBI Director, as the man who held this nation together in the smoldering ash of September 12th, 2001, when we were all afraid and we needed someone steady, someone serious, someone who loved this country more than he loved himself. He was all of those things. He was a Republican. He was, by every honest measure, an American hero. And the President danced on his grave.

Knies —-> Zharovsky, Reinbacher, Miller, 2026 1st Nemec —-> Anderson (50% retained), Beck, 2027 1st Whitecloud —-> Xhekaj, Xhekaj, 2027 2nd Matheson, Carrier and Monty traded away for draft picks Lineup Caufield - Suzuki - Slafkovsky Knies - Hage - Demidov Newhook - Evans - Bolduc Texier - Danault - Gallagher Ext: Blais Hutson - Dobson Guhle - Nemec Engstrom - Whitecloud Ext: Struble Dobes Fowler The team gets bigger, more talented and the majority of dead weight is removed. The only things to be done is wait for talent to develop and to bolster the bottom 6 using deadline trades and FA signings

@GenoManager That being said, I agree that no GM would take Wright, Nemec, or most other picks over Slaf. The possible exceptions are Cooley and Hutson.

@GenoManager Cooley is also a fantastic pick and we don't yet know his ceiling yet. So don't be so premature. If Slaf was a great pick that doesn't mean Cooley was not another great pick.

@cselley I don't think that's what the locals will think about it. The locals will hate the condescension of the people in the junket, but not capitalism. Just like they hate their communist leaders. At least the locals not loyal to Canel, which is most of them.

This lefty junket to Cuba is like something the regime cooked up to make the locals hate Western capitalism.

Electricity generators work on gasoline, moron, which comes from oil, moron, both are being rationed by the Communist Cuban leaders. Gasoline is being provided to the hotel where Pablo Iglesias is staying because Pablo Iglesias is staying there. So yes, Pablo Iglesias is the culprit.

@AndrewCMcCarthy Trump is right. Mueller was a vile person, and we need more people to say so. You are covering for a person who sought to undermine American democracy. You should be ashamed.

@qcspomi @MichaelAArouet It happens when ordering online for pickup or delivery, there is a section for tipping and it can have radio buttons for different percentages. It never used to happen until recently.

And it’s not my job to pay your salary, it’s the job of your employer Can someone please explain the strange US 20–25% tipping culture? Many countries around the world don’t have tipping as a common practice. The business simply pays the salary. Why is it so different in the US?

@jaiboregio @MichaelAArouet It's not 15% in the USA anymore, now it's minimum 15 up to 25. It used to be 10. Canada is just a bit behind the USA, it's now 15% in Canada.

@MichaelAArouet What you should explain, is your 0% tipping culture. In Mexico, it is 15%. In the US, it is 18%. In Canada, don't remember the number, but it is not 0%.
