I am disappointed in OpenAI's decision to work with the Department of War. The way DoW treated Anthropic stands against everything that makes America great. It know it's not this simple, but it feels super opportunistic in a way that doesn't sit right with me.

@immasiddx That's a feature you want? The animation seems like a waste of time. I can switch between 9 workspaces on Linux faster than it takes you to maximize one window.

The animations in macOS 26 are NEXT LEVEL. Windows can NEVER match this level of fluidity.

Incredible exchange between @SecretaryWright and @Jason about solar and @elonmusk. What do you think? — “So Elon has it completely wrong?” “He has a wildly exaggerated view of where solar and batteries will go. I’ll make a bet that solar never gets to 10% of global energy.”

@oracleofoahu1 Exactly how the Fed is intended to operate. I doubt Trump realize how much his rhetoric on Powell hurts the dollar.

@digitalandreas VS Code or any editor looks fine; it’s mainly for the login screen, notifications, or volume pop-up.

Apple use to be a tech company, now its a fashion brand and media distribution company. While Geekbench scores show Apple processors outscoring current Samsung phones, that means nothing if apps can't take advantage of the hardware. Curious to see what their Q4 sales will be, given the current economic slow down. Average consumer won't upgrade if they currently have one of last 3 generations but I doubt they'll seek alternatives.

I Hate Apple@iHateApplee·
So, Apple held their iPhone event of the year, and they introduced the iPhone 17 and the iPhone Air, which is 5.5 mm thick and is the thinnest phone Apple has ever made. They also announced new Apple Watches and AirPod Pro 3's that put heart rate sensors in your ears and apparently give you the ability to translate languages in real time. But if you're thinking, "Wow, that sounds a lot like every Apple event for the past 5 years." Well, congratulations. You're not too far off the money. And it turns out this is all just an attempt to hide something much worse about Apple right now. You see, the iPhone 17 is what anyone might expect. It's a little faster, a little sleeker, and with the same camera. It's exactly what we've come to expect from Apple, an incremental upgrade of a device that already dominates the market. Everyone is reacting to the Pro's design, saying it just looks ugly with trio of large cameras and raised back. One post I saw said that Steve Jobs would have fired anyone from this era. And as for the new bright orange variant, it might look like something you'd see in a catalog from the 1990's. And the Air, which is stealing the limelight, might be a metaphor for modern Apple. It's a solution desperately searching for a problem. Who woke up this morning thinking, you know what would improve my life if my phone was 30% thinner? The Air is so thin that there were concerns about the battery, which Apple whizzed over at the event, claiming it simply has all day battery life, bit less than the iPhone 16. However, in the next breath of the launch show, they announced a specialized MagSafe battery pack back designed specifically for the iPhone Air at an extra cost of $99. Apple Watch Series 11 gets 24 hours of battery life and the new Ultra up to 42, which seems fine until you realize Garmin watches run for weeks. Okay, they're targeted at different markets and it's not necessarily a fair comparison, but you still won't be able to go hiking for a weekend with your Apple Watch without charging it. But here's the most important thing about this year's iPhone event. Apple wasn't just releasing a new phone. It's fighting to prove it's still relevant and can still innovate at the frontier of technology. The whole event is a facade for much bigger problems at Apple as the real new frontier of technology is AI and this is a big problem for Apple. Google, Meta and Microsoft saw the promise of AI early and poured billions into developing their own powerful models. Microsoft has ChatGPT built directly into Windows and Office. Google has Gemini spread across its products. Meta's Llama models have become pivotal to the open-source AI community. By contrast, Apple's AI has barely seen the light of day. And what we have seen is being glitchy, unimpressive, and just widely criticized. While AI's trajectory is challenging to predict, and we could speculate that Apple is actually just making a good play by throwing it on the back burner, their PR and communications have been disastrous and in the leadup to the iPhone event, Apple has been very cautious about AI and its Apple Intelligence Suites. The company everyone looked to for the next big thing. But AI has triggered a modern gold rush in tech, and Apple was just nowhere to be seen. While competitors are pouring literal billions into AI development, Apple's still trying to figure out how to make Siri work properly. And they've been trying to do this for over 10 years at this point. And still, it just sucks. And the track record so far really isn't encouraging. When Apple intelligence features finally started rolling out, they were problematic. In the end, Apple is playing catch-up and from what I and others have seen, desperately trying to prove they are still relevant, when in truth, they're not. #AppleEvent #iPhone17 #iPhoneAir

@marclou Turns off your phone before bed and doesn't turn it back on before midday the next day. Midday the following day, gets fired for not keeping up with emails. 😂

Try this: + Throw out every unhealthy snack in your house. + Delete Uber Eats. + Don’t eat out. + Set a bedtime alarm (yes, even on weekends). + Turn off your phone before bed. + Don’t turn it back on before midday the next day. + Wake up. Look in the mirror. Smile big and say: “Today is going to be freaking awesome.” + Move your body for 30 minutes (run, gym, home workout, doesn’t matter). + Walk 10K steps a day. Bonus: 3K right after eating. The first 3 days will suck. The next 30 years won't.

Every .NET developer should be excited about this: Visual Studio 2026 just landed. It brings new UI, offers new workloads, and doubles down on AI-powered development. Here's what stands out: - .NET 10 and C#14 - New look and feel - File exclusions in search - Mermaid chart rendering - Built-in code coverage tool - BenchmarkDotNet project template - Bring your own model to chat - Enhanced editor controls - New Profiler launch experience - Inline post-return values - Search in Text Visualizer - Inline pull request comments - Podman support in Container Tools - Hot Reload improvements - Razor editor improvements - Copilot and AI in context menu, while pasting, code reviews, "Did you mean" search... everywhere After successful predecessors, VS2026 comes refreshed and full of AI features. I'll nickname it: AI Studio 2026.
