if you have to adjust your defense and play less restrictive due to a harsher whistle that affects the game a lot. If the other team is able to be much more physical you obviously will have a harder time on offense.

i don’t think the frustration with the thunder is that they draw a lot of fouls (at least, it shouldn’t be). it’s that it feels like their opponent doesn’t ever feel like they’re allowed the same bandwidth to be physical

1. OKC has many good defenders
2. this gritty defender label has allowed them to get away with more physical defense than other teams are allowed
you see this on every team where players history effects how they are officiated

Every questionable officiating moment from Suns vs. Thunder Game 2:
1. Oso Ighodaro called for a foul boxing out Chet Holmgren.
2. Khaman Maluach called for an offensive foul on Isaiah Hartenstein.
3. Devin Booker called for an offensive foul on Alex Caruso. Suns challenge is unsuccessful due to “unnatural shooting motion.” On the next possession, SGA draws free throws on a similar play.
4. Jalen Green called for a foul boxing out Lu Dort.
5. Dillon Brooks assessed a technical while attempting to retrieve the ball from Lu Dort.
6. No call on SGA’s push-off drive on Collin Gillespie.
7. Royce O’Neale called for an offensive foul on a screen involving Ajay Mitchell.
8. Devin Booker assessed a technical after accidentally hitting Jaylin Williams’ arm while saving the ball from going out of bounds.
9. Dillon Brooks called for a foul defending SGA.
