@Ibarra_Lab @Yale @NSF @NIH @CSHL Sadly, funding for genetic stock centers has continued to decrease over time. Many people (who claim to do genetics but don’t really understand genetics) seem to think that it is easy to reconstruct strains, with little appreciation for strain backgrounds). 😕

This is a sad new, any chance @Yale can revert this? Perhaps @NSF or @NIH can help? Or @CSHL can take it? Sad day for molecular biology…😔

Check out the interesting, thought-provoking new book “Revenge of the Microbes: How Bacterial Resistance is Undermining the Antibiotic Miracle” by Brenda Wilson & Brian Ho. A great read for nonscientists, and loaded with insights for scientists/science students also!

@MonsiTP1 @jlewillett This is an intensive hands-on lab experience. There is a fee that covers course costs plus room and board, but CSHL will consider requests for financial need.

@Typhi @jlewillett I am interested but will like to know if it will be online training or physical training? Again, will there be financial implications?
