There is artillery shelling right now from the east of the Gaza Strip toward the west. I can hear the echoes of the explosions while I am in Deir al-Balah, and the sound of the planes in the sky over Gaza is very terrifying. Earlier today, a car was targeted near Al-Azhar University roundabout in Gaza. What is happening? Where is the ceasefire that Western media keeps talking about to the whole world?

This is what is happening in Gaza, while the world is not paying attention: There is an orange line advancing every day — sometimes 200 meters, sometimes 500 meters, sometimes 700 meters — depending on the patrol operating in the area. Checkpoints and barriers are being prepared around the trenches that are being dug along the entire stretch between the yellow and the orange lines, along with sand berms. I expect they are planning to move us from western Gaza to eastern Gaza, and then continue their operations and destruction in western Gaza. This is the reality we are living day after day, step by step, while the world barely notices.

“Do you want to die alone or with your family?” Lebanese Journalist Radwan Mortada recounted the story of 62-year-old Ahmad Tormos from the southern Lebanese town of Tallousa, who was killed yesterday after receiving a direct call from the Israeli occupation army giving him a choice to either be killed alone or with those around him. Without hesitation, Ahmad chose to protect his family. He drove away from them so the strike would not hit their home. Moments later, an Israeli drone fired two missiles at his car, killing him. Ahmad had previously lost his son Hassan, who was also killed two years earlier.
