We are likely to have harder times in India (economically speaking).
The politicians have figured out the magic formula of winning elections -- even with negative economic progress.
Economy, jobs, living standards used to be the focal point of elections. Now, no more.
There is no political pressure anymore to pursue good economics. Honestly, not many would bother even if we have de-facto direct taxation at 50%.
You can come cry on Twitter. And, go away :)
Poor economics= few opportunities= fewer jobs= lower wealth.
The writing is there on the wall. The sooner you see it, the sooner you can rework your investment strategies.

Why do a few well educated Indians abroad have 3 kids??
3 kids one after the other, and not just an older child and younger twins.
I already know 4 families with 3 kids each..... And none of them are filthy rich, they just went abroad via the usual channels and earning just like loads others. And it's nothing to do with wanting a male child. Infact all 4 families have sons as their first child. The couples are currently in their 40s and kids are into their teenage years.
What is the secret that these people are privy to and that we don't know in India, that makes them want to have 3 kids?
Here, in India, even well educated, well earning people don't want to have kids at all or don't want to have a second kid.
All I can think is that they wanted a home filled with kids....
Loads of well educated Caucasians voluntarily have more than 2 kids abroad.

A lot of my engineering friends went to the US for their master’s between 2008–2013. They have been living there for about 18 years now. None of them speak with an accent. That’s nearly half your speaking life (assuming you started speaking fluently at 4) - you lived in a place and didn’t pick up an accent.
So now when I hear these famous NRIs/OCIs (bankers, VCs, engineers, CEOs, founders) in these summits and panels, I really question if the accent is a conscious choice to get ahead in the workplace, or if they have to speak in an accent when they talk about work because otherwise it feels weird. How can so many people not have accents and so many people do? Do humans adapt differently and have no control over their accents, or is it a conscious choice?
