@elonmusk Agreed, start a company or make investments you believe in after borrowing $20-$30,000 dollars from your parents.

Since I’ve been asked a lot: Buy stock in several companies that make products & services that *you* believe in. Only sell if you think their products & services are trending worse. Don’t panic when the market does. This will serve you well in the long-term.

I hit my breaking point today and needed a good cry when I got home. Adulting is hard. Working at a start up is hard. Trying to make time for myself is hard. But I’m good enough, I am doing the best I can, and I will make it through this.

@bschlenker I don’t know if I agree with you 100%. Don’t you think this gives some people the excuse to say a formal education in ISD, cognitive psychology, etc, are not beneficial to training professionals?

The art of being a successful corporate training professional has little to do with academic studies of neuroscience, psychology, sociology, and the other -ologies. It's fun to learn these things, but you will spend less than 10% of your work applying them.

@KrisTorrenceLXD I see... thanks again for posting. We don't have many people in our field taking research and putting it into practitioner's terms, or prescribing effective practice. Keep up the good work!

@cjpman Good question. Perhaps! Researchers mentioned a limitation of this study was that it primarily focused on attentional resources and didn’t directly measure cognitive load, & the measure of attention doesn't necessarily reflect perceptual load despite the link b/t the 2 variables.
