The use case is sms your agent or cli. Now WHY would someone want to or need to do that? Well some people like using sms, no app, works on any phone. You can also have your agent send texts on your behalf, setup text reminders, greetings to friends, novelty. Or it might sincerely be a useless idea hahah. I'm using it though to text my claude code instance frivolous messages. I'm going to add MMS so you can send images, which opens up things like calorie count, plant identification.. of course you can do this through chat apps, telegram discord, specific apps etc. This allows you to use your own agent/harness. There's more features I'll add as well like dedicated phone numbers and voice calling.
