@ClearReason It's not funny, it's telling. Fake atrocity porn involving Israelis does go viral. Real atrocities committed by Hamas are buried. There's high demand for fake stories of Jewish villainy and people are willing to corrupt their normal evidence standards to sate that hunger.

@RuslanSmith1 @marklevinshow @NickKristof @nytimes Of course not. If it's an accusation against Jews they admit it cheaply, without evidence; if it's a correction by Jews, or an accusation against an enemy of the Jews, they raise the price, or ignore the evidence entirely. Antizionism is based on a corrupted epistic system.

@LekhtNaya The issue is not criticizing Israel, it's lowering evidence standards to support accusations against Israel and then raising evidence standards to prevent corrections. Almost all antizionist criticism features a lack of portable evidentiary standards.

I have now given numerous talks on antizionism in which I present the Three-Era Framework, a model that situates antizionism as the third historical era of anti-Jewish hostility. Yet, talk after talk, the same question inevitably arises: What about criticism of Israel? The question has become the lightning rod of the entire discussion—a permission slip that many within the Jewish community continue to grant. But the demand to create space for "criticism of Israel" is itself embedded within the structure of antizionism. No other minority group is routinely required to subject itself to criticism in order to appear reasonable, balanced, or intellectually honest. What troubles me most is that even after demonstrating how libels have historically served as some of the strongest predictors of violence against Jews, antizionists—and even some self-described moderates or "demizionists"—continue to insist on making room for "Israel criticism." During these talks, I often switch the example from Jews to another minority group in order to reveal how what is presented as "criticism" is frequently demonization. Suppose, I say, we are discussing homophobia, and I insist that we make space for criticism of gay people. Is claiming that gay people spread AIDS a form of criticism? The audience immediately gasps. They instantly recognize it as a defamatory stereotype rather than legitimate critique. What I find most disturbing is that I must repeatedly make this substitution for people to understand the point. I have to move away from Jews and toward another group that has been maligned before the audience can recognize demonization for what it is. There is something deeply pathological about a society in which harm directed at Jews remains invisible until it is reframed through the suffering of someone else. It is a pattern that extends far beyond contemporary debates. @DavidDeutschOxf recently observed that while antisemitism is historically resonant, civilizations have often shown remarkably little concern when violence is inflicted upon Jews.

Hersh Goldberg-Polin, 23, had his arm blown off by a grenade while sheltering in a roadside bomb shelter near the Nova festival. Terrorists loaded him, bleeding, onto a pickup truck and took him hostage. He survived nearly 11 months in captivity before being executed in a tunnel. THAT'S WHO YOU'RE DEFENDING. THAT'S HAMAS.

@EYakoby Antizionists will suppress and deny the video footage, because these facts compete with the emotional pleasure they get from fake stories of Jewish treachery and Hamas magnanimity.

What the Irish did to the buses in Belfast was disproportionate AND NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT. The man’s head which the Islamist attempted to remove is HUNDREDS of times SMALLER than the innocent buses they burned. It was AUTO VEHICULAR GENOCIDE in broad daylight! The ICC must prosecute!

🚨HORRIFIC ATTEMPTED BEHEADING ON THE STREETS OF BELFAST 😱 Graphic Warning ⚠️ Just after 10:30pm last night on Kinnaird Avenue, North Belfast, a man was slashed and stabbed in a frenzied attack, with the suspect on top of him on the ground repeatedly hacking at his head and neck in what looked like an attempt to cut his head off. Blood everywhere. Hero bystanders dragged the attacker off. The suspect appears to be a foreign national as he is shouting in a foreign language during the assault. PSNI have one suspect in custody. Victim rushed to hospital with serious head and neck injuries.

They don’t follow evidence to Israeli guilt. They use Israeli guilt as the place where evidence is allowed to stop. That is not inquiry. It is evidence priced by destination.

@EYakoby It is anti-Enlightenment, because it involves a purposeful warping of evidence standards to accommodate accusations against Jews. But it is not third-worldism. The view is increasingly popular among Western elites.

@JewishSpaceLazr The Democrats elect a Nazi to represent them while calling their opponents Nazis. How Orwellian. But it's not about the Democrats. The trend towards a Jew-obsessed politics is present in both political parties. Fueling it is a growing appetite for stories of Jewish villainy.

@EYakoby People believe this. They price evidence by destination. If it moves towards Jewish treachery, they let it in cheaply. If it moves towards Jewish innocence, it's rejected completely. This is important to understand.

Some wars feature unending battles and a constant tempo. Others wars have wars within wars. October 7. The 12 day war.The Houthi campaign, Hezbollah. Operation Epic Fury. And warm periods, and hot periods. And ceasefires, and ceasefires within ceasefires. This is not a clash between two ancient civilizations, it's a clash between The Enlightenment and the forces that wish to suppress it.

@AriFleischer A gallon for an ounce is still a proportional response. The proportion is just different. Predators often advertise safety, not danger. The wolf lowers its head before it lunges. Advertising a weak response sets the stage for a strong one.

As President Trump once said, if you take an ounce of American blood, he will take a gallon of yours. If they shoot down one helicopter, the response should not be “proportional “. It should be so overwhelming that they never shoot at another American helicopter again.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces began launching self-defense strikes against Iran at 5 p.m. ET today at the Commander in Chief’s direction, in response to yesterday’s downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter. The mission is a proportional response to unjustified Iranian aggression.

@CathyYoung63 Bari replaces a broken epistemic system, where the evidence bar is lowered to accept accusations of Jewish treachery, with a classical liberal outlook. She is not perfect, but her epistemic system is intact, which is more than one can say for the people she replaces.

As someone who's defended Bari in the past, I think it's fairly clear at this point that she's acting as a MAGA-lite operative with a Trump-placating agenda. Is there spontaneous left-of-center bias in the media? Sure, but a government-placating bias is far more dangerous.
