FSD is supervised so ultimately, yes, it's on us. BUT... It's not about acting in the last seconds to avoid an accident, but about avoiding the situations that put you in that position in the first place. The US national average for accidents is about 1 major collision in 700k miles Teslas, with some form of active monitoring enabled, have statistically better odds in all cases. But FSD specifically put the odds at about 1 major collision in ~5.3 million miles So if you want to talk about not being stupid...use FSD if you got it.

If your Tesla or car crashes on FSD, autopilot, auto steer, cruise control, ADAS, lane assist, blind spot monitoring, whatever, that’s on you. Idc what software my car has, I’m not gonna wait til the last second when it’s too late to disengage or take control and put my life in danger. I’m also not going to let my car get wrecked. Idc if I carry all the responsibility or if it gets passed on to the provider in the future. It’s just common sense to not be stupid.

For Tesla to "Catch Up" to Waymo it would have to move backward through time. Waymo has thousands of driverless cars. Tesla has over a million, globally. Over 600K in the states. This is the 12% us that actually use FSD, the "take" rate. Tesla has over 8 Billion accumulated FSD miles of the 10 billion they think is needed as a starting point for unsupervised driving. Every other car company out there is decades behind Tesla which makes me wonder how they got approval at all.

A lot of people are focused on when Tesla will catch up to Waymo, which is fair given that Waymo has thousands of driverless cars and Tesla only has a handful. But not enough people ask “When will Waymo catch up to Tesla?” 1. When will Waymo be able to take me on a coast to coast drive? 2. When will I be able to buy a Waymo? 3. When will Waymo cross 8 million cars that can run their software? 4. When will Waymo be able to work with no geofencing restrictions? My contrarian take is that it’s a lot easier for Tesla to catch Waymo than for Waymo to catch up to Tesla.

@niccruzpatane It's almost like they've never heard of Tesla. With that much gear insuring this thing is going to be impossible. And it's ugly.

This new company called Tensor Auto is claiming they’re making the first Level 4 autonomous vehicle that you can personally own. It costs $200,000. 😂 • 37 Cameras • 5 LiDAR Sensors • 11 Radar Units • 22 Microphones • 10 Ultrasonic Sensors • 8 Water-Level Sensors

@MobofJoggers Driving is fun. But you miss so much when you have to concentrate on what in front of you. And the faster you go the less you see. Fun is being chauffeured. But also finding new restaurants or shops now that you can be more of an observer.

Until another car brand can drive itself as well as Tesla FSD or better, I would never even begin to consider purchasing another car. The problem other car makers are gonna have is that I can't imagine another car company having as fun of a car.

@DirtyTesLa Don't have a clip, but FSD slightly swerved to avoid blowing leaves again. I know this has been addressed, but I do wonder where is the threshold in terms of volume of leaves.

@djcows You can like the car for the tech and ease of maintenance and still enjoy driving. Also there is nothing like having a new passenger who's *heard* about Tesla's but never experienced one. FSD will never slam on the accelerator. 😆😆

@WallStreetMav If this connoisseur also ordered that steak well-done then you may be off the hook, at least according to Anthony Bourdain. The chef may have already insulted them by swapping out that steak for some low grade cut, simply because they wouldn't know the difference.

@MobofJoggers Yeah, I've found FSD takes the solid and "short-dashed" lines associated with exits and turns to be more of a suggestion than law.

@XFreeze The goal will be self improvement. There will be a shift. When basic needs are provided for, there will no longer be an urgency to earn. People will need to discover what is important to them and work towards that goal.

Elon Musk on why universal basic income is coming and also points another massive challenge: “I think ultimately we will have to have some kind of universal basic income. I don’t think we’re going to have a choice. I think it’s going to be necessary There will be fewer and fewer jobs that a robot cannot do better These are not things that I wish would happen - these are simply things that I think probably will happen If my assessment is correct, then we need to say, ‘What are we going to do about it?’ Universal basic income is going to be necessary The much harder challenge is how do people then have meaning? A lot of people derive their meaning from their employment If you’re not needed, if there’s not a need for your labor, what’s the meaning? Do you have meaning? Do you feel useless? That’s a much harder problem to deal with”

@EpochTimes Not necessary. Completely ignoring autonomous driving options it's objectively better to own cars with 20 or so moving parts. What we need a mandate on is nuclear power and an overhaul of our power grid

@MobofJoggers Had the same thing happen to me. In my case it turned out to be an ear infection, but oddly no pain. A full course of anti-biotics and the same precautions and all is well. Very odd though.

Blood coming out of your ear is concerning. I was walking down the hall and felt something in my right ear and my hearing was muffled. It felt like when you get water in your ear swimming. I kept knocking my head to the right to try to get it out and felt it clearing a little bit, but didn't think much of it. Then I was sitting in the Tesla playing backgammon with my son and I noticed my ear was wet and put my finger up to my ear and noticed blood. My son immediately was like "Okay let's go to the ER." I told him "It's not a tumor" in Arnold's voice. He had never heard it before. Anyways... He supervised as the car drove us and I talked with AI about it. Grok, Gemini, Claude, and ChatGPT all agreed on what it was, but they all said to go to the ER. However, grok scared the crap out of me and was pressing to go immediately and call 911 if I couldn't go right then. I thought that was surprising because Grok is usually the chill one. At the ER they found it was a ruptured eardrum, but they were surprised there was almost no pain. That isn't something they see. I think it actually was from putting a qtip too deep into my ear canal the day before. I kind of remembering it hurting a little bit when I cleaned my ears out. I've always been careful because I know you aren't supposed to even use qtips in your ears, but sometimes I live recklessly! Anyways, now my ear is jacked up and I feel disoriented. Should be healed in a month or so. Need to put drops in my ear twice a day and take antibiotics. The worst part, I don't know how I'm going to take my long showers now! Oh and no swimming! I'm glad it was nothing too serious though because I was a little nervous with blood coming out of my ear!
Lincoln@MobofJoggers

Blood just started coming out of my ear. I never have stuff like this happen. At the ER.

Per Grok itself: Yes, Grok can read and report the tire pressure in your Tesla. As part of its vehicle integration (available on compatible models with AMD processors and software 2025.26 or later), Grok has access to real-time vehicle data, including tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) readings.

No one can answer this... Let's say I am 100 miles from the next supercharger with a speed limit of 70mph the entire way until I get to the exit of the supercharger. However, screen says "Stay below 62mph to reach your destination" What do I do? @Tesla_AI

@MartinPilgrim1 Wow! You actually compared Tesla's FSD to "Captcha" The funny thing is that you are close if you were comparing it to Waymo and every other Autonomous driving system out there. And that's not really an exaggeration.
