I don’t think this is the worst idea. Essentially two tiers, so the incentive to tank only really lies on that 10th line.

A “heavy front runner” has emerged in draft lottery reform to end tanking, per @sam_amick - Change the lottery to 18 teams instead of current 14 - Bottom 10 teams have 8% chance of top pick - Remaining 20% would be divided among the remaining 8 teams (nytimes.com/athletic/72340…)

@jackfrank_jjf My problem is I just don’t buy that cutting those out will solve it and then we are left with the same issues with 10 less games. Teams will still institute rest games for their stars, injuries will still occur, and teams will just shift their focus to the playoffs sooner.

@greg23m We’re looking at it from different perspectives then. I get what you are saying but I would prefer trying something to reduce injuries and long-term absences. I’m willing to sacrifice games for better health and higher-quality play

The league has a clear-as-day injury crisis on its hands and its decision-makers seem entirely disinterested in actually addressing it for the betterment of the players and the game as a whole.

@jackfrank_jjf It’s basketball! It’s a physical sport, injuries happen. Teams and players have already tried all these methods and we still have injuries. You can try but is it worth cutting 10 games off the season? 10 less nights I get to see my favorite team play ball? For me, no.

I, like you, struggled with those who didn’t have him 2 (or even 3 or 4), but I still do believe it’s too early for victory laps.
He’s been good, but I always think we should wait 2-3 years

This was the craziest take in the fade Harper camp, almost as bad as when Miles Byrd was commonly ranked ahead of Harper for a period of time😂

Memphis forward Aaron Bradshaw has entered the transfer portal, @chris_hummer and I have learned for @CBSSports. The 7-foot-1 Bradshaw is a former top five overall recruit who posted averages of 8.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this past season.
