The problem with this mind set is your basically asking the series to stagnate and not actually evolve with its story telling

They have spent more time apart then they have together and it's never mentioned that much. Franky meeting Dr Vegapunk should have been a huge moment for example and nothing comes of it. Same with Zoro in Wano.
