Tom's Weekend Warrior study is out! Training either 4x (short) or 2x (long) weekly resulted in the same adaptations, when overall volume and content of training was fixed.
Performance, thresholds, efficiency, Hbmass, and ox cap ↑ equally in both groups.

Just out! We describe a method to measure hemoglobin synthesis using heavy water. It takes longer than muscle etc. due to the delay between synthesis (in bone marrow) and sampling (blood), but it's short and simple compared with RBC labelling. w/ @MartinMacInnis & Chris McGlory

Using femoral venous and transpulmonary thermodilution, we were able to directly measure leg blood flow simultaneously with cardiac output during high-intensity running. You can see the process here, and in the supplemental materials of our paper
