Massive Attack frontman Robert Del Naja was among the 500 people arrested after attending a mass protest against the ban on Palestine Action on Saturday. Hundreds turned out in Trafalgar Square to protest the continued proscription of Palestine Action. In February, the high court found that the ban was unlawful, but the Metropolitan Police promised it would continue making arrests until a pending government challenge is heard in court. In a statement following his arrest, Del Naja labelled the ban "total madness" and urged the government to "act with the integrity of neighbours such as Spain" by refusing to assist the US-Israeli attacks on Iran. Hundreds of people accused of showing public support for the activist group are awaiting trial while the court battle over Palestine Action's legality continues.
