@Mikedavisss @mizzoulegend @AJKirsch Swing and approach were alright. It might have flown 230-240 feet for all I know, and that is not impressive for his age. He looked like an idiot after he hit it. But that’s the new thing I guess.

This tweet is embarrassing. 1) The kid hit a bomb. Last I checked, that's called "playing the game the right way." 2) He's pumped. As he should be. He's having fun, as he and ALL the kids should be. Let them have that while they still can. 3) Dude, who hurt you? Lighten up.
Danny Kanell@dannykanell

The coaches and parents who allow this to go on are the problem. Instead of teaching kids how to play the game the right way and show respect for the opponent they’re worried about getting viral attention. Embarrassing.

@Mikedavisss @mizzoulegend @AJKirsch I’ve never heard of a league or organization that plays on such small fields once they’re not 12 anymore. That’s an incredible waste of time. I got it, so it’s not even a real game or a real celebration.

@AJKirsch AJ? He hit a bomb at age 15 on a 12u field. For the gram. It’s a can of corn on a regulation field. It’s a content creator team. His real team? 0-11, outscored 50-4 in last three games, he’s hitless as a high schooler

Can’t wait to see how he handles getting one in the ear hole for acting like a jackass. Or how he handles the miserable feeling of striking out with the bases juiced, 2 outs, down by a run, last out of the game. Will you be okay when he slams his bat in disgust, makes a ridiculous scene, and smashes his helmet on the ground? Basically the same thing right?

I’m not going to lie, my jaw dropped watching that first pitch. This is why guys don’t hit .300 anymore. I can’t remember one guy from the 90s or early 2000s who could throw 95 with that much late arm side movement. And he also throws a sweeper, curve, cutter and changeup that you need to be prepared for. When you do hit it, teams usually have their fielders positioned exactly where you normally hit it to. It’s the same sport, but a completely different game compared to what it was 20 years ago and beyond. Anyone who tries to pretend otherwise is insane.

14 years ago today I awoke on the floor of a jail cell. No hope of a peaceful or unchaotic life, rather, no life at all. Today, I get to remind myself that you can’t change the past, you can ALWAYS start over and change your future. I’m the luckiest man in the world! #soberlife

More details have emerged about Tiger Woods’ accident. He said he was distracted by looking down at his phone at the time of the crash. Police also found 2 white pills, identified as hydrocodone, in his pocket. His eyes were bloodshot, glassy and “extremely dilated” and Tiger responded with “I take a few” when asked if he takes prescription medications. The driver of the other vehicle helped Tiger get out and he was allegedly sweating profusely, lethargic and showed “severe signs of impairment.” He was also limping and stumbling, citing 7 back surgeries and 20 operations. He will appear in court in late April. Tiger remains in the updated field for The Masters next week but it is still unclear whether he will make an appearance. H/t @TMZ @NUCLRGOLF

This is a sick man we’re dealing with here. His body’s reaction to the substances he takes has fired a disease of the mind that probably no human power can help. He needs to be completely busted physically and spiritually, or else his ego will tell him he doesn’t need help. Clearly his ego is a problem. I have my doubts, as he has been quoted as saying his need for privacy trumps his need for a driver. “I don’t want people to know where I’m going”. These are the ramblings of a dishonest man which is a sure sign that he is not willing to do the next right thing. What is he hiding? No one can know where he’s going? He probably has had flashes of recovery, mixed with periods of substance abuse that he tries to hide, and when found out, he justifies. He wants people to think he’s a good guy who just has a bit of a pill problem. But deep down he knows he’s living a lie and he should be at his crossroads. May he find the peace that millions of alcoholics and addicts have found, by doing a few simple things. If not he may die soon or end up in prison.

I don’t know Tiger Woods any better than any of you, but I do know addiction is a subtle and insidious foe. Beating it is a very, very difficult task to begin with, but being an addict with a bunch of injuries that create a valid medical reason to take narcotics is a scenario built for chronic relapse Some people will see this as a PR move, and others will see this as a legal strategy. I understand why, and only time will tell what is driving this. Personally, I saw a guy in those pictures who looked much more like a sick person who needs to get well than a bad person who needs to figure out how to act good. I don’t really care what the motive is for getting Tiger into the door for treatment. Once he’s there he’s got a shot to get clean. Whatever you think of Tiger’s missteps, at the peak of his powers he was capable of things that brought a lot of people joy. I hope that his story ends joyfully, and that he finds some inner peace. Being stuck in that cycle is no way for any person to live.

@megbasham @ArizonaKayte @chicagobulls Maybe he was a bad fit for the office, you ever think about that? Maybe guys in the locker room didn’t want to talk about religion or be talked AT about it all the time. Listening to people go on and on and on about their beliefs is exhausting sometimes.

@TROKNOWS That was the whole point of Victor Conte’s program. it was undetectable. He hasn’t been wrongfully shamed. He was literally PED addict. He let his trainer get to prison for him. He’s a terrible person and that’s why he’s not in the HOF.

Barry Bonds never failed a drug test, never tested positive for PEDs, & has been wrongfully shamed by never-weres & media folks who couldn’t hold his jock. He belongs in the Hall of Fame, periodt. If you disagree, you’re wrong, & don’t understand what he did for baseball.
Not Gaetti@notgaetti

It’s possible, all things considered, that Barry Bonds was the most talented baseball player of all time. He had the tools, the eyesight, the coordination, the presence; he had HOF numbers before PEDs and is the only member of the 400/400 & 500/500 clubs.

@notgaetti The tale of Barry Bonds and his PED addiction is a true tragedy. He performed on another level, and he also used at the highest possible level. No one out PED’d him.

That’s the tragedy of Barry Bonds He would have been in the pantheon of baseball alongside Ruth, Gehrig, Cobb, Jackie, Clemente, and so on… but he couldn’t help himself. He put up 100 WAR before PEDs on natural talent, but got outshone by the “chicks dig the longball” era.

@lordev @jemelehill You have the numbers backwards. The United States spent over 5.3 trillion on healthcare loan in 2024, 1.5 trillion on Social Security, 1.048 trillion on welfare, And about 900 billion on defense.

I guess I have to be the bad guy (again). I like Gary Woodland & I’m happy for him. BUT it’s not like he had to beat the 2 best players on his tour to win this. He beat Sam Stevens, Johnny Keefer, Paul Waring & the less good Hojgaard twin.

I relocated from the West Coast to Kentucky. One obvious difference that strikes me between the two regions: if you want to use the public restroom at a gas station in California, good luck. Shop owners pretend they don’t even have one because they know locals will destroy their facilities. Everywhere I go where I live now has a clean, accessible, fully functioning, public restroom. The locals respect the shop owner’s property and don’t trash it. I wonder why that is?

Charles Barkley on CBS tonight: “The way some of these immigrants are getting treated in our country right now is a travesty and a disgrace. What we’re doing to some of these amazing immigrants is really unfortunate and really sad.” Charles Barkley is not a politician. Not an activist. Not a Democrat. He is one of the most beloved sports figures in American history saying this on national television.
