Supporters of China’s government claim Japan is stagnant because it is a vassal of the US. But this is because Japan was defeated by the US in WWII. To prevent this, you would need to go back in time and make Japan less aggressive and imperialist in the first place.

@EmergentLand @actsmaniac Courtyards like those in Barcelona would be welcomed by most. It's just hard to incentivize that sort of wastage of space for the sake of aesthetics. No one wants their city turning into a concrete jungle like Tokyo or Cairo
